I liked your process and you are correct having too much, you end up not using it at all. I carry 6 washi tapes. Have a suggestion for carrying a variety of tape. I have a piece of plastic cut lengthwise from an old empty dvd box. I used sandpaper to round the edges. You can use an old hotel keycard also, but only holds 4. I picked out 6 that I love and wound the washi off the roll and onto the plastic piece. You can go round about 6 times which gives you about 24” of tape (depending on how wide you cut strip) without bulking out. Just continue wrapping each design around the narrow side leaving about 1/8” between. This assumes a standard width roll. Narrower ones you can get more than 6 on the piece. What’s nice is you can customize the size for your pencil case. Hope this helps.

I want to do this with old agendas that were actually used as agenda,...pieces of my past life peeking through.

I write in a Hobonichi Techo every day. I used to do a lot of art journaling. Not so much these days.

I love seeing your world in your visual journals! It’s cool to see how you don’t need a specific type of paper to do art on. That has been a factor for me in the past but perhaps not anymore, now that I’ve seen yours. Thanks for sharing your pages!

Thanks, Cynthia! Yeah - not waiting for the perfect or best paper has been game changing for me! If you try something like this lemme know!

@@LisaSonora I like how it has the things you are doing and thinking about - recipies, conversations with friends, traveling - just what is happening in the here and now. We don't think about our ordinary lives being 'art worth' but when you examine the work of 'famous' artists you see how the ordinary things influenced their work.

ja my daily journal has variety - inspirational reflections, morning reviews either of yesterday or setting up for the day and then the random writing, collage - when I just grab it as it is always close now that I work from home. I enjoyed you sharing and it encourages me to be daring with more of my own sketching as I have mainly been adding collaged items. I also do not to "to do" lists it is more about the inner me getting writing and thinking space

Love your ideas. I actually did a page of my favorite books and I also printed out small book covers. Have never thought I was an artist but when I look back on some of my art I surprise myself with what I have done. Sometimes I can’t believe I actually created some of the pieces. Like Wow, I did that? Will be starting a Visual Journal now although being consistent has never been my strong point. Thank you for sharing

Thanks so much. I have a Rhodia goalbook that I use as more of an agenda, but this year I wanted to add more visual journaling elements. Your video has been so inspirational. I like that this doesn't have to be perfect or look a certain way.

This was so informative and inspiring. I LOVE the "Ta Da" list rather than "to do". I noted that in my own journal. Thank youl.

Hi Lisa, thanks so much for sharing! I have one of these agendas and I started drawing in it as I made notes about my day, but noticed lots of seeping through the pages. I was using water color markers. How are you avoiding that seepage - or dealing with it? Thanks!
@LisaSonora
@LisaSonora 2 жыл бұрын
I don't use markers, Sande. I do use a mix of watercolor, gouche, acrylic paint (whatever is handy) pencil and pen. Sometimes color seeps through a bit, but that's' ok with me.

Do you actually use the calendars in the front? The full year and the months to organize yourself and then journal on the date pages every day? I don't get your process?
@LisaSonora
@LisaSonora Жыл бұрын
I sometimes use the calendars in the front just to keep track of daily projects (a checkmark for done) but I don't use these as a typical agenda. I usually document something from my life and work almost every day.
