Getting around Lisbon on the Metro (Subway) is a great way to see the city and save money on taxis. Their Metro system is great - they cover a lot of distance and are on time and clean.
In this video I will show you how to buy the ticket using the machines so you don't have to stand in long lines and how to find your train to get to your destination.

It says the following in google; It's free with the Lisboa Card. There can be long lines at the ticket counter at the base of the monument, so in order to save time, buy the Lisboa Card or a 24-hour public transport ticket (which costs €6.45 and can only be purchased at metro stations) beforehand.
