Between Cascais and Cape Town yeah I would say so, it's made the transition much easier :) I stay closer towards Praia do Guincho and the coastal road with the place to go for my runs is so similar to blouberg where I lived most of my life.. So yep definitely :) and the sea water is also proper cold like cape town 😅

From that first beach we went to in cascais you can walk along the coastline to all of the different beaches, so I think there's multiple stations you can get off at

I've enjoyed watching every second of it. You both are rock stars with a great sense of humor. The beaches were beautiful. The night life with all the outside bars was nice. The owner of the beach bar where the beers were 5 euro probably has to pay a fortune to be able to run a bar at that location. Such a big contrast with the inland rural area. It is almost as if you are traveling back and forth in time when you go from the coastal areas to the rural inland area. As nice as all those beach castles were, I still prefer the tranquility from the country side. I have a tip for you Ken, next time that you go film a property at a beach location make sure to film the marina as well if there is one. Many boat people can afford such properties. In many cases it is even like pocket change for those folks. And when you put the word marina in the description of the video it attracts a whole new group of potential buyers with plenty of cash to burn. Anyway, thanks for sharing, and a big 👍

Hi, Ken! At your open with both you and Dad speaking, if you were in Cascais i think i stayed in the multi-story white-ish pension behind you dad's head. It was along the beach, right above a cove and had a small castle-y building near it. I remember i was steps from the metro line. 1988 i think, my only visit to Portugal so far! Your dad has cool hippy vibes. I'm from San Francisco, so i dig that vibe. No wonder his shirts are so cool, he designs them! Does he surf? I think the ionized air chills you out, Ken, eh? That street where The World Needs Nata is is very posh. So cool you two are with Livvy on camera, too. 😄 I, too, can sleep anywhere -- moving things, rocks... lights out, man 😴💤💤. I loved the vlog! My husband and I are contemplating moving to Portugal in the near future after our visit in August. I've been watching your home video's to get a feel for the areas and prices. We are retirees so we're looking for something on the less expensive side. We enjoyed the Avelar area for the quiet but Lisbon has its draw as well. Palmitas park in gran canaria is a must visit. It look like table mountain looked many years ago and better, much better. Kirstenbosch when it was at its best and better. It is one of the best places i have ever visited. I am from Cape Town, now living in uk. Im dying to live in or visit portugal. It's not possible right now, but it's an open dream....... i love your dads shirts. That fabric would make an awesome summer dress as well.

Great video! Cascais isn't south of Lisbon, it's west. You are still on the north side of the river. Welcome to my home town Estoril =) The "other bridge", Vasco da Gama, is about 18km long. When it was built it 1998, was the longest in Europe.

Actually Buondi is an italian brand. (I'm jumping the gun here, not seen all of the video...) The reason Portugal is so keen on coffee is because of our colonial past. We basically brought coffee to the world. A country that used to have Brasil, Angola, East Timor, S. Tomé does have access to a lot of different types of coffee. Having said that, the coffee culture since mid XX century is gearing toward italian first, with high pressure expresso machines, and lately American with all the nonsense Starbucks mambo-jambo.
