[02:08] 🧠 Tyrosine is beneficial during fasting as it supports the stress response, which is essential for fat loss and adaptation. [04:54] 🥗 Thiamine is critical for glucose metabolism and can be supplemented during fasting to prevent glucose-related issues after breaking the fast. [06:05] 💡 Creatine, when taken in low doses during fasting, can enhance mental performance and ATP creation without breaking the fast. [08:43] 🍌 Potassium supplementation can be beneficial if you experience fatigue or muscle issues during fasting. [09:53] 🌿 Magnesium can relax muscles and the mind without negatively affecting the desired stress response during fasting.

I will consider Thiamine post fast, coffee I will have on fasting days pre exercise only as my poor heart goes pitter patter instead of put put with coffee caffeine, I have incorporated green tea daily instead of daily coffee and my heart palpitations are gone (echocardiogram to prove it), sodium and magnesium I do take, potassium I do NOT take as my levels stayed normal with two 36 HR fasts per week (blood serum checked). My trainer has suggested the citrulline malate combo but I will try on a eating day. Autography is my goal as well. That said, I track my macros to keep my weekly macro nutrients where I want them as im athletically lean\highly muscular.

Hello Thomas. Just wanted to drop you a quick “Thank you.” Within the last two years I have had to deal with several “life issues” which led me to stress-eating and eventual mass weight gain; upward of 45 pounds. I have learned so much from your videos and committed to using keto to take back control of my health. I have thus far lost 32 pounds and am feeling great! I owe you credit and am very grateful for what you do. Thank you.

I break my 18 to 20 hour fasts usually with bone broth with added cream of tartar, coconut oil, cayenne pepper and ginger. Next 2 heaping tablespoons of nutritional yeast, electrolytes and then any vitamins and minerals, nettle root etc... that I require. Next (20 minutes later) I have an avacado with lemon juice or eggs or buckwheat keto bread with lots of good butter. A few hours later I have my big full meal after 10 cups of 10 different vegetable salad with sea kelp added. I work out around 16 hours into my fast followed with stretching and core exercises and also try to walk 10K steps every day always keeping active but a few times a week resting. It's all about shielding the pollution out of your life and retaining mental awareness. If people around you don't appreciate your lifestyle just weed them out. It's worth it. Fasting is the key to getting started.

There's a huge relationship between dopamine and estrogen. When dopamine is low, estrogen will go higher to compensate. Perhaps increasing dopamine with mucuna pruriens L-Dopa or tyrosine will help prevent estrogen from going too high hence the adaption to stress.

Hey Thomas, what about supplementing with B Complex during a fast?
@nicolassalazar457
@nicolassalazar457 3 жыл бұрын
I would say no, the more supplements you add the less it becomes a "fast" try to do it as plain as possible with only non caloric electrolytic minerals such as Salt, Potassium (Optional) & Magnesium. In fact 1 and 3 are almost imperative if you're doing prolonged fasts. Another thing which is fundamental (if you're not getting enough sun exposure) I'd say is Vitamin D, but I haven't heard Thomas talk about this last one. The thing is, always consume the supplements in tablet form not gel capsules since they contain oil and can break a fast (he said it). Hope that helps.
@CursedWheelieBin
@CursedWheelieBin 3 жыл бұрын
@@nicolassalazar457 You’re spot on Nicolás. The last time I did keto in 2019 I neglected those 3 minerals you mentioned and I suffered for it. Losing weight was a total drag, and I would countdown to these lame regressive “cheat days” where I’d eat junk, rebound and kinda undo a lot of my progress. This time, however, I’ve made sure I consume almost 1000mg of magnesium, 4000mg of potassium (lo-salt is fasting friendly) and some sodium from pink salt. I don’t crave junk and feel like this is sustainable. The result is that I’m retaining minerals leading to greater performance in the gym both in terms of strength and stamina. Libido’s fired up but you don’t need to know that.

I know I'm a little late to this party, but I have a question. When in the fast is best to take this stuff? For example I usually fast from after dinner, around 6, go to bed at 12, wake up 9, then begin eating at noon the next day. What is best at the beginning of the fast, or before bed, or when I wake up?

I'm sure that Ashwaghanda would be a great herb to use during a fast.

Great video. Can you make a seques of what to take first, then how long you need to take the 2nd supplement and so on... Also there are studies that green tea helps during fasting...

Can you provide any information about YOHIMINE, HMB, CDP CHOLINE or SHILAJIT. I would like to know your opinion of these supplements and how they may improve or not improve fasting and fasted workouts. Thanks!

Very informative video. I really just want to know how to take tyrosine. I know you mentioned loading then smaller dosages, but the advice I see on other sites say 1500mg split throughout the day.

Hi Thomas, the standard scoop for my Citrulline and Beta Alinine are 2.5g and 2g respectively. Is there any benefit or downside to taking more than 1g of these supplements?
@CursedWheelieBin
@CursedWheelieBin 3 жыл бұрын
With beta alanine you can just experiment with the dosage and see how you feel based off that tingly sensation it gives you. People have different tolerance levels to it. With citrulline malate it’ll get converted into arginine, which then gets converted into NO2. If you’re getting good blood flow (a good pump) in your muscles then that’s a good sign. Add some sodium too to increase blood volume so the heart’s not having to work as hard 6g is usually the recommended dose for athletic performance
