I think the Chandler police department failed Charles. At the very least, Alex and Lori should not have been allowed to move away until the investigation was over. It was clear that the stories did not match and that Charles had been shot while on the ground. They failed Charles in so many ways

From reports I've read, Charles was a semi professional baseball player. Without a doubt if Charles would have hit Alex in the back of his head, it would have crushed his skull. Also, Charles was in excellent shape. Alex was a skinny POS. Whoever decided, especially based on evidence, decided to not press charges against Alex should be held responsible. I'm so sorry for the Vallo family, Colby Ryan and the Daybell children and their murdered mother's family.

Why would you put this dude on the stand, he failed in every way possible. Had so many red flags in Charles death yet did nothing. There were plenty of people begging the police to look into the murder yet somehow they decided it was self defense. It is truly unreal how inept this department was in this investigation.

Good grief …. why does her attorney call out hearsay so many times? The question is always reworded and then it’s ok so what is the point of interrupting? Jury’s do not like that I’m pretty sure.

Charles was killed in Arizona. It seems (?) as if Lori is not on trial here in Idaho for conspiracy in his death: so they want to prevent all mention of that investigation. But the prosecution have argued mostly successfully that Charles’s death is relevant to the trial for JJ and Tylee for the insights that it gives. For example, that Lori was upbeat about her husband’s death, that she lied about when she left the house (with shoeless JJ and Charles’s phone) an hour before the police were called. Then her try at collecting life insurance on Charles. Her lie to her son Colby that Charles had a heart attack, her failure to even inform older children of Charles that he was deceased. This goes to show a callous, calculating and deceitful person who had monetary motives - as towards the dad, so towards the children. Anyway, I THINK that is the background and character picture the prosecutor is building, and why the defense hoped to shut it all off.

They have to raise the objection as soon as possible because the longer they wait, the more the jury hears which might be sustained and stricken but the jury has ready heard it. It’s not about being patient and interrupting.

I’m sorry, but this judge is straight dog shit sustaining objections that have absolutely no reason at all for the defense…I truly don’t understand officer is literally laying foundation and there’s an objection for foundation. Is that not what is happening??!?!?

And now 1 month into the future this judge is not letting grandpa woodcock give a victim’s impact statement due to not being “biologically” related to JJ but allowing Summer instead. Same with other relatives and he is being argumentative and enjoying his power trip.
