@@joannadechenne6368 Exactly. She kept JJ for his government checks, and lied about both kids still living for the money. She had her brother kill Charles for money. Chad’s spending habits increased when he got Tammy’s life insurance payout. I think the prosecution is absolutely right that this is about money, power, and sex. It awful that for so many people in Lori’s life she ended up being their demon that killed them.

Hmm… She complains Charles switched his insurance to benefit his sister… but then says she cancelled the insurance. Tylee is “at college”. And Charles is “my husband” but Chad, her present husband, is “my brother’s friend.” No mention of demons or zombies.

@eh1702
@eh1702 Жыл бұрын
Most of us imagine we’re immune to that, but I have seen people work every day for a decade with someone and have no clue who that person really is. Until one day, in a major way, they forget to fake the right emotion, or fake an inappropriate one, as Lori does in the call with her son. But even then, our urge to normalise it, explain it away is extraordinarily strong. She’s all insanely perky, implicitly because the kids are “happy” now: and some people accept that as her being deluded. The whole exchange is so weird and emotionally on turbo that they don’t pay attention to the words, the mechanics or logic of it. (a) She ignores every question on the kids physical whereabouts or fate and makes it about how she knows they are happy and love her. Answering questions nobody asked. Why so coy? If they are in a wonderful afterlife, what do their mortal remains matter? Why not let her son have a funeral to console him? (b) She blanks and evades his bald accusations of murder - yet never denies them. Once again turns it to the supernatural that she has special knowledge of but refuses to detail. She always keeps it vague. You can’t forget details you never put in. (c) She completely forgets that a mother ought to express some compassion for her son’s very real anguish, misplaced or no. We see her utter callousness. But she’s not our mother. Even after listening to it from an observer point of view, Colby understandably cannot bear the thought that his grief is literally nothing to her, that she has no more compassion than she has conscience. Asked if he thinks she loves him, his long pause says he knows she isn’t even capable of love. But he has been educated into the American imperative that all moms love their children, and educated in Christian forgiveness not to shut the door, and he has memories of times she acted like moms are supposed to, so he just says he doesn’t know. It is just an extreme example of how we all work along with people like that. The reality is so bleak we literally can’t contemplate it. People that merciless are surely national tyrants or infamous bogeymen, not the nice person at the next desk, or your kid’s teacher, or a hairdresser mom.

There is no legitimate reason for Lori to be calling her deceased previous husband “my husband” and identifying her present husband Chad to the officers, when they ask, as “my brother’s friend”. This is outright deception. She also contradicts herself by saying twice “there is no money” from Charles’s death - the first time telling them resentfully that Charles made his sister beneficiary and the second time saying, “I cancelled the insurance”.
@eh1702
@eh1702 Жыл бұрын
They already knew Lori was married to Chad, so they knew she was lying. Lori also tells an outright lie about Tylee being at BYU, Idaho - which she never even applied to. Because of this, and knowing they themselves had towed Tylee’s jeep parked at Lori’s apartment, they knew she was lying.

David hears himself & realizes how crazy he sounds, he wants to explain his "visions" & nightmares but in doing so it doesn't even make sense to him. I've known hundreds of people in my lifetime, the evangelicals were pretty normal during the week but come Sunday they were all dropping on the floor, speaking in tongues & "feeling the spirit" it was pretty INSANE. This group feed on each other's craziness, and between visions & revelations they were getting divorced & re married at an accelerated rate. Not normal... At all.

I love how the officers are playing her as if they didn't have a clue. Audrey, I can read the frustration about Ms. Gibb however, she gave lots of strong evidence in a methodical way which helped the authorities connect the dots. And who knows if she was facing any kind of conspiracy charges herself. She is also a very strong witness. Think what it is like to be on the jury and hear this unbelievable story for the first time, you need a clear well spoken witness. She came off very well. Better than Zulema. I want to know about the other Melanie. Why doesn't she have to testify?
@lynnegackstetter2779

She may have to but she is also tied to the attempted murder of her now ex Brandon. She wanted him dead to get life insurance just like Lori. It had to happen that day as the next day she had to sign the divorce papers and would not be on life insurance anymore and would only get half of the money for the sale of their house. If Brandon died she would get life insurance and all the money from the house sale. Lori's niece melani was just like Lori. Willing to have her kids Dad killed for money. She would also get his SS money just like Lori did. They killed and attempted murder all for financial gain. Now Mel Gibb's doesn't even live with her new husband. He's probably afraid Mel will kill him for financial gain.

So hard listening to that audio of the police officers doing a welfare check on JJ. All the while Lori knowing the kids are dead and Tammy's dead.. knowing all of this and Chad is right outside in the vehicle and they both act like they don't know each. I think they're married at this time too. And she's laughing and charming the detectives. An acting like everybody's after me and Adam and Kay it is after me, in my life is just just a disaster right now and I don't know why... WTF???!!!!!!! It's clearly to see that she is the one that is devil possessed here she just doesn't know. No parent in their right mind would act like that if their child was missing.
@belindahoare3748
@belindahoare3748 Жыл бұрын
But SHE never claimed her kids were missing - she always said she knew exactly where they were, that they’re ‘fine’ and ‘happy’. What she meant by that was they’re buried in Chad’s backyard, ‘free’ from ‘demonic possession’ and now ‘happy’ in heaven. It all made total sense in her (deluded) mind.
