Listen To Power Running At The Hill! Geep Pulling Up Williamsburg Hill, Cincinnati Eastern Railroad

A GP15-1 Gets A Run At The Steep, Curvey Grade In Williamsburg, Ohio! Both Sides Of The Train & Awesome Railroad Crossings On The Short Line Railroad Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. This Is A Mixed Freight With Storage Tank Cars, Grain Loads & Railroad Ties From The East End Of The Line.
I heard the train horns from my home In Ohio and decided to see what was being shipped toward Batavia, Ohio. I knew the train was going westbound because they went eastbound the day before. The went all the way out past Peebles to the east end of the line to set 5 cars off for McCoy Lumber and work the grain elevator in Winchester. Storage cars were also moved.
On this day I got them at Eastwood Road first and then chased them to Williamsburg. Eastwood Road is in Mount Orab since this area was annexed in a few years back. After I got them at Eastwood I paced them and tried to show them running parallel to the road. This is almost a tree tunnel and in the summer you would never know there was a railroad there.
Next we see the train notching up for the hill in Williamsburg. The train isn't very long but the hill is still a good challenge for the GP15-1 pulling the train. Listen to the power as it passes me on the hill. That is an awesome sound! There was also another Railfan in Williamsburg and you can see him behind me in the video. His name is Neal and he loves chasing the train from Sardinia to Williamsburg. Neal doesn't get on social media and he has no idea that I have a big KZbin channel. He is not familiar with KZbin. Lol.

Much calmer evening than last night. Which there was an EF 1 tornado that hit Licking County on Thursday Night in the St. Louisvillec Area north of Newark. I am glad where I live there was no storm damage here. Had hail about 1 inch in diameter here last night. But I hope you were safe when these Nasty Storms hit last night, Jawtooth, and my prayers go to the 3 that got killed in Logan County.

The Tornado that hit Logan County was originally rated EF2 but it was raised to EF3 due to some mobile homes that was severly damaged due to the Tornado 🌪 that hit Logan County.

We got lucky. No damage here. I feel bad for the people of Logan County. Tornados are the worst natural disaster that we have to worry about in this area. There are a lot of them

I frequently look at rails for their roll date. It's fun. I found what I believe to be Canadian National from 1949. The track in Williamsburg looks similar to our track through downtown Springfield, Ohio-curvy.

Yes over the past couple of years they put up new gates at several areas. They put them up on Bean Road where it used to only have cross bucks. I used to own 5 acres right at that crossing

Yes they do have the little switcher MP15DC that they use. I got it in a video recently. Those 4 are the only ones that are operational. It's possible that a B36-7 might be used again. They are going to need more power when Purina comes on line

The SD40-2 has 3,000 horse power and the GP15-1 has 1,500 horse power. The GP15-1 is leading with the SD40-2 right behind it. Total horse power combined is 4,500 when they are both operating

A Geep is a nickname for GP or General Purpose locomotives. They were manufactured by EMD to be used mainly for switching and transfer runs between railyards.
