I remember being in 10th grade English and in our free time, I wanted to do my work and listen to music and my friend told me about this site that plays music and I heard this song play and let me tell you my god. My ears couldn't believe what I just heard. when the song finished I didn't get the name but thank god I remember to go back fast and I got the name Gojira Oroborus. that's how I fall in love.

L'enfant Sauvage is polished to a fault, and kills what makes this band so so so good. I'm so glad they rectified that, especially on fortress. Gojira is supposed to sound organic, twisted/exprimental, and with a massive sense of groove. Little mistakes, inflictions, and general weirdness are part of the charm. A rigid perfect sound with all the fat gone doesn't work for this band.

@@cavanray6742 "polished to a fault" what does it mean? I love L'enfant Sauvage. I don't really think "perfect = rigid". I think any quality -even with a negative value- could reach the point of perfection or close. Have you watched the movie "Black Swan"?

@Jumne XI it's the production and mixing. It's very sterile. Overproduction basically, all the human feel has been edited out, and the bass is mixed way too quiet, the guitars too bass heavy. Song writing wise it's probably the safest, least experimental album they've made, there's virtually little of their trademark weirdness or detours. Paint by numbers. Even in spite of my criticism, it has it's moments, but I always find myself wondering how much better those moments would be if produced and mixed like the way of all flesh or magma. It's simply their weakest album, but I'll take a mediocre album from gojira over alot of other bands.
