You can her real life Turkish in our Ankara vlog and practice listening comprehension. We are walking around the old town of Ankara, speaking in real, basic Turkish, mostly suitable for A1. There is some vocabulary and grammar that beginner learners may not be able to understand but the context is clear and the subtitles should help. We have subtitles in many languages. We mainly tried to keep it basic but keep in mind it is real life Turkish so it isn't structured. You will hear the more natural language. We hope that this video will be helpful for you to practice listening and learn a little bit about a different part of Ankara.

I liked the bit where you squeezed the wool. Tell me more about these herbalists!

We're actually working a dedicated wool-squeezing video right now! For the herbalists you might want to talk to some of your chums in Amsterdam!

Çekim stabilitesini ve ses kayıt kalitesini artırın. Bu gerçekten daha iyi olabilir. Ancak kanala devam edin, başarılar!

"In a city, both could act as an additional layer of defense and last place of refuge against enemies that penetrate the city wall. A castle could be built on its own without being attached to any city, while a citadel must be part of a city. A citadel may or may not have a self sufficient economy like a castle. A castle doubles as a permanent living space and fortification, while a citadel may not always be habitable for a long period. A citadel could be used only during a siege for the city people to gather inside for protection, while being unused in peacetime. A citadel could be just a walled off section separate from the larger city, while castle, due to their function as living space, often had more elaborate structure, although castles that were just walled section did exist. In short, a castle had more functions than a citadel, essentially a castle in a city was always a citadel in function, but not all citadel were castles."
