In a sense, you're saying she distilled the song. Her ability to open up the story in a song so that the emotional truth of the human experience cannot be denied, the real story told, is brilliant. You know this already from previous comments, but you listened to her album version, not her AGT performance. That’s too bad because the AGT version was the first time Angelina’s arrangement was heard, and the crowd and the judges were stunned-mesmerized by the beauty and the emotion of that live performance. Anything Angelina sings is amazing, but when she sings live, you can watch her ability to effortlessly deliver the emotion of the lyrics and capture thousands in the audience-as you watch them hang on every unexpected twist of a song they thought was untouchable. In my opinion, that live performance was her best version of Bohemian Rhapsody, and it was the best live singing performance I’ve ever seen in my 70+ years.

You're so right about the live performances, I always like them better than the studio stuff. But here I can also understand that there are people who like the album version better because she had more time to slow things down even more. It's also "cleaner", you can hear nuances that were drowned out by the cheering crowd in the live version. The live recording has the advantage of the short interview in which some interesting points about her are clarified beforehand.

13 years old. The audience reaction to this is worth watching. For the most part the audience is deadly silent just swaying with their camera lights. There is a shot towards the end of 3 teenage girls. One has her hand on her heart, another a hand over her mouth, the last her mouth just dropped wide open. We all recognised this reaction. Queen themselves loved it so much they gave her the copyright to this version of their song.

Unlike many commenters here, I like that you picked THIS version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Yes, you can go back and see the actual AGT performance, but to react initially to just her pure voice, unadulterated by the sound of the audience, is something special. The existing members of Queen were so impressed, they re-Tweeted her video, congratulating her on a spectacular performance. They were even SO impressed… they gave the copyright to her version TO HER - this video is the result of that. AGT has been squirrelly about THEIR property… the recording of the shows performance. The live presentation was better to me for what Simon mentioned, the simplicity! Without the time constraint she adds in my opinion, a little too much glitter and trills. Agree. There was some maturing in her voice between the AGT performance and this studio cut. One of the great things about Angelina is that her performances are never the same. I enjoy both versions, but there's some extra magic when she connects with a live audience.

Angelina Jordan is an artist at a genius level. Ric, thank you for going to her Official channel and reacting to her copyrighted version. Queen loved her version so much they posted a link to it on their Twitter AND allowed her to copyright it. There are about a dozen videos, most from channels associated with Got Talent, that total around 200 million views on KZbin. We all need to be mindful that watching videos from Angelina's Official and Cover channels, liking them and posting a comment, helps her career the most. Many have said, Angelina will be a megastar without this help and that may be true but would you be willing, if given the chance, to tell Angelina directly, you didn't want to take 10 minutes per day to watch two of her Official videos? The more we help Angelina's career, the more people she will be able to help.

Very often her best song for me would the last song I played. At age 11 she sang some song with her guitarplayer Egil Clausen. Among them Love story, the most wonderful slow down version ever. Love ur analogy with multi track recordings, spot on, Angie is at her best with minimal acoustic accompaniment. Here in UK atm, a series of live studio sessions are aired on radio with world renowned performers. People rave about these, but clearly haven't heard Angie as they're not that good. That's the only issue with listening to Angie, afterwards u notice the inadequacies of live performers that clearly use multi takes and studio assistance to make that recorded version. Hope that u will continue to enjoy her vast back catalogue of performances on YT and her newer shorts on TikTok and Insta.

Hey Ric, I have a feeling you might like or at least appreciate what she did with California Dreaming, performed with a hired guitarist on an extended visit to the US at 12 years old. Neither Angelina nor guitarist Ivan Mendez knew the song intimately but they were sufficiently familiar with it for Ivan to come up with the chords and Angelina to sing her impromptu interpretation reading lyrics from her phone. According to an interview Ivan gave to Alan Papier, their covers in this type of setting were generally unrehearsed and recorded in one or two takes with Angelina in control. AGT To win AGT you must sign a contract with Simon, and he then has control of your future. AJ's family would not allow that to happen because they wanted her to have as much of a normal life as possible and still pursue her goals, and money was not an issue because her family is somewhat wealthy. Several producers flew into Norway in their private jets after AJ wone NGT and tried to sign her, but the family did like the terms of the contracts. I believe one of the producers was David Foster. This video of Angelina Jordan performing Bohemian Rhapsody has been viewed over 150 million times.

You explained it perfectly. The Queens had a huge instrumental accompaniment for their 20 minutes recording. Here She comes, humble kind of shy, a little curtsy to the audience,then she gets the mike and opens her mouth, backed only by a piano, and she does it all just with her voice. I had that option but AGT likes to copyright claim videos and can be difficult. I didn't wanna fight it or wait 30 days to get it posted like I have with others. I'll get some more live ones, I promise 😀

@@ricdreacts I do prefer the AGT version, like basically everyone else, but if you haven't heard it this is an OK substitute. Personally, I don't think you need to react to her AGT performance - largely because of the issues you pointed out - but you should watch it, anyway. (People will not like that, but "tough"… :) There are many uploads of it. The most popular (i.e., most viewed and most reacted to) ones differ in terms of how much content they include: one is just the performance alone; another begins with her onstage talking to the judges and includes her getting the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum at the end; and the third begins with her being interviewed backstage and does not include the GB at the end.
