It‘s crazy to me that Justin was only 19 when he dropped this. His management and label didnt support him during this process because they didnt want him to do r&b, but he did this album nevertheless and just dropped it without any promotion. He was doing a world tour at that time, overworked, doing drugs due to his anxiety and high pressure from the industry, so in a very very bad place mentally but he turned it into Journals and I will always thank him for this album. Its my favorite album ever. Words can‘t describe how much it means to me

amazing that yall done journals ! this is such a special body of work and such an era. But to your comment of let another guy come and ask for what he asked for on the change me track, he was being very sincere in acknowledging his ways and his approach - then asking for what he believes would compliment his flaws during a time in his life where things were extremley difficult for him. Alot of todays asks of womens are hardly ever met with behavioural acknowledgment of the person asking IMO

ignore some of the lyrics and just vibeeeee. he did his big one with this album. dropping on music Mondays, the switch from younger JB. you really had to be there! & we didn't mind the lyrics because we were like 13/14 at the time lol. & his TikTok live performance of this album is incredible- the live music elevated it so much. all bad, swap it out & one life are my faves! (& you're just like me- pyd is a straight skip!)
