She inhales, while he sighs as if too fed up with the other. His furrowed brow could mean frustration or anger, while she steals a breath from the world and takes up space, meaning the air and space she takes up is wasted on her etc.

Love this reaction!! Fun fact, bag of bones is the first song mitski wrote when she was 17 (at least the lyrics and melody!) after getting back from a (not fun lol) party really late. I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that the first song she wrote ends with the lyrics “let’s shake this poet out of the beast”

Yk, this entire album always somehow gives me shivers. Especially Bag of Bones, I’m not sure if its the slow and desperate voice or that organ like instrument, piano or lyrics xd. Mitski is so talented and she can definitely put feelings and emotions into her songs!

Hi!! If you notice idk if this was intentional but in the song door it starts out with her finding out this door and what it is. Like the lyrics “There is a door to me I've never seen it Sometimes I get closer to it But I've never found it At twilight, I almost had it” and then in her other song called I want you one of the lyrics is “I found you, I found the door but when I stepped through there was no floor” so for me, I saw that as her actually finding this “door” and opening it and facing it.
