15:10 you are absolutely right!! She said once during a interview that she dosnt like to make the listeners try to think in her point of view, she likes to give the music and let us conect with it in our own way, and find a meaning based on our experiences. God, i love this queen sooo much😭❤ Ps: im loviiing your reactions! Kisses from brazil💕

I think that people take drunk walk home as a “loud and no sense song” but it’s full of feelings and the lyrics are so deep, i would like that people listen to mitski’s songs with their heart more than their brain!

For Last Words of a Shooting Star when she talls about the liberty bill she is LITERALLY talking about the liberty bell as a replica but the way I always interpreted it was that with the way the lines phrased, its about BEING the liberty bell. "Did you KNOW" "Silently housed in its original walls" Its about asking an outside perspective if they recognise that as a person the singer isnt who she used to be, if they even know or are aware that you're a shell of who you used to be and they just havent noticed cause youre still playing all the parts of your old happier self.

In The Last Words Of A Shooting Star, she talks about how she left her room tidy and that people will come inside of it to get her things. Cleaning your room is a sign of suicidal ideation, and she is most certainly referencing suicide throughout the song; wanting to "die clean and pretty" so she doesnt burden those around her. The song also uses the metaphor of a plane crashing and the literal sense of a plane crashing throughout the song. She talks about how the "turbulence wasn't forcasted", starting the song with saying it as if its a burden, but ending the song saying she is relieved that the "turbulence" wasnt told to her in advance. Also, if she dies in a plane crash, she doesn't have to worry about looking pretty or cleaning up after herself before she commits suicide, because this time it wouldn't be her fault. Really dark stuff.
@Basil13 Жыл бұрын
Actually, I'm almost sure she wrote this song because her plane went through a turbulence 😂
@handsomehead1381 Жыл бұрын
@@Basil13 She got the idea from that event. She turned it into a metaphor.

your comment was 6 months ago but for me by the title, it gives me the vibe of a su*cide note last words of a shooting star sounds like a note with someone's last words before they disappear from the universe

First of all, we should've warned you with the first track lmao RIP ears 😂💀 This is the first album I heard from Mitski and I truly loved, and introduced me to the alternative/alt rock genre when I was a teenager. What I love about Drunk Walk Home is the screaming towards the end, how it became indistinguishable from a guitar screaming. Great and honest reaction, as always! It's always nice to see a fresh perspective of this album ❤️

For me last words of a shooting star is about a plane crashing down and the song is the person's last thoughts before hitting the ground

if you take it literally, yes. but the plane crashing is most likely a suicide for killing herself
