I, myself had sort of the same experience and I am studying transpersonal psychology at university. I like this talk, cause it resonates with me. and I know there is even more to it. Which I find very interesting.

With patients coping with dementia, we're taught to resist the urge to correct them or nudge them back into reality, but rather to go along with the delusion so as not to unnecessarily stress them over a physical condition beyond their control. This "transpersonal" psychology likewise seems to me to ignore religious delusion to placate the delusional. Moreover, it seems to me to dismiss, maybe even outright ignore, the psychological damage and social conflicts caused by religion - subjugation and mistreatment, infantilization, sex and body shame, self-deprecation, pressure to forgive predators and abusers, etc.
