In Germany, after you get your drivers license (usually) at the age of 18, your licenae will never be questioned again and you'll keep it until the day you die. Unless you voluntarily decide to return it. Guess, how many do. One effect of being - I don't know the correct english expression, let's call it "age impaired" -is that you don't know you're "age impaired". But that's of no fault of the old, they just don't know better. That's a thing, the caring people should have prepared for. And in the case of Joe Biden, they didn't. Sadly, that's one major fallacy of power - they never prepare for a successor, because of a fear of others becoming a competitor. And that is why Trump will win. I wouldn't care if it was just about the US. But sadly, Europes leaders attached our fates to a country with which we have very little in common.

As absurd and inapplicable as your comparison is, many in the US already did, and still do make their opinions clear on Brexit, and often still either condemn or discuss it to this day. They are free to have that opinion, similarly with how Hague is free to believe that the Democrats suggest that Biden shouldn't run.
