Is it possible to call attention to the documentary 20 days in Mariupol? It seems that many people in the West want to get on with their lives and are not willing to hear the misery of every day. There are rules for us that make us feel safe. Like the convention that says civilians should not be shot at. But those rules don't give us a foothold. I watched 20 Days in Mariupol. It made me cry. I thought I knew everything, but it turned out I didn't. Even the people in Mariupol couldn't imagine it. Unfortunately, more such tragedies happened in Ukraine after that. Many of them elude us because, unfortunately, journalists cannot be everywhere in the war zone. If an ordinary citizen knows what it's like, he might have more empathy for Ukraine. Amazing he doesn't learn from History. In WW1 after 3 years of suffering horrendous losses the Czar's army quit the battlefield, which led to armistice between them and Germany. He is right at tipping point. All it will take is one or two major units, division size, to quit the battlefield and it will spread like wildfire
@peabase14 күн бұрын
Oh, you can safely say that Russia was defeated in WW1. That being said, I think Russia's fate in this war will be more akin to Germany's in WW1. Likewise, Russia still holds enemy territory, but nonetheless collapses from within. The USSR collapsed without a civil war before or after, but second time unlucky?
@willietorben56013 күн бұрын
Many people tout Russia's "invincibility", but they are wrong. First of all, they usually mix up Russia and ther Soviet Union, and the latter had Russians fighting alongside Ukrainians (and others), and this was what made them strong. Second, historically Russia on its own was *the* blitzkrieg country, evne if this seems completely counter-intuitive at first. But here's the thing: if they could not win a war using the resources gathered for the initial push - say, achieve victory in 18 months *at most* and ideally in less than a year - they would almost invariably lose, and if the war went much longer than 2 years they'd tend to lose *catastrophically.* It is just too challenging logistically; once the amassed resources are spent, it is essentially impossible to get enough troops and gear to where they are needed, and at the time they are needed.
@kevinleecaster269814 күн бұрын
No need to care about the front lines in Kursk compared to those on Ukrainian territory. If they could push through and create a salient behind the Russians somewhere on their homeland soon it would help a lot

@adamwest113814 күн бұрын
The US, Australia, and most of the developed world has doubled their debt as well. Its not the fault of a single politician
@willietorben56013 күн бұрын
Unlike Russia, Canada still has a thriving civil economy. Debt is sustainable if you got the productivity to back it up. If your factories are producing things with lasting value, you can get heavily into debt and it's no biggie. If your civil factories are depleted of workers and everything is fed into the war and most production is of things that get blown up quickly, even a modest amount of debt is fatal, because it's essentially pure inflation. NEVER FORGET that money is only worth as much as the stuff you buy with it. It has no intrinsic value of its own. People forget this because the key economic figures such as debt, interest rates and so on are so derived and abstracted, their connection to real-life economy is easily lost in peoples' perception. But it is still there and always will be. You can borrow a million bucks and if you build a road with it that helps generate 10 million bucks worth of revenue, it's a good deal. Or if you build a hospital that prevents 10 millon bucks worth of productivity lost due to people getting ill and unable to work. Don't focus on the money statistics. Focus on the productivity, the services, the infrastructure. These are what matters. These make the economy thrive. Money alone is just someone else's debt; with todays' plasticized bills you can't even light a fire to keep warm...

To those who still b(leamy)itch about Ukraine still not mobilizing its 18-22 years old, just have a look at its age pyramid - a huge dip of births in their generation. Which means Ukraine still wishes for a future, even if it means overburdening its elders. The Pentagon brass does not get it (my, it's not how we took Okinawa, nor even Khe Sanh !) but did they foresee the Russian threat when it was looming - Transnistria, Abkhazia, Chechnya, and even Crimea ? Did they foresee the drones war, did they really comprehend the North Korea threat ? Finally. did they win anything in Iraq, Libya or Afghanistan ? As for getting rasha's women to the factories 😂, well, you gotta learn more about their sociology: it may look like USSR 2.0, but it ain't.

@@foilhat1138 yeah I did. You just can’t do math apparently. In order to grow from 400k to 700k from 2024/25 and take on 400k casualties, they would have to have recruited 700k ppl in 2025, which is 60,000/mo. That’s double what the same ppl making the casualty claims say that they are recruiting, aka 20-40k. Like I said, it doesn’t add up

Why of all things happening in Kurakhove chasovia and Torestky the Russian casualty rates is the first thing to be discussed? Something is fishy,. In whose interest are the casualty rates? The audience wants to hear one thing and that is how much territory using western weapons and money has Ukraine and NATO been able to liberate. Wasting people's time telling them of Russia's casualty rates without the war map is counter productive. It's like the German army in world war II claiming to have inflicted so many red army casualties but losing Berlin...😂😂
@foilhat113814 күн бұрын
Except the Red Army was making massive gains, Russia's gains have been marginal at best. As of the end of December 2024, Russia occupied 18.14% (+0.07%) of Ukraine, which is about the same amount it occupied 2.5 years ago. Almost all of that was taken in 2014 and the opening days of 2022. Russia has taken almost nothing since.

@foilhat1138 True. At the rate of orc gains nobody watching right now will be alive to see Putler take Kiv. When you do the math they will run out of equipment long before that ever happens. They (orcs) have not been able to replenish the daily equipment loses even on a one to one basis. At some point when they run out of Chinese golf carts or motorcycles they will be reduced Roman Chariots with bow and arrow offence. Hilarious ❗❗❗❗❗
