It may have started off as an incident involving the Roma community but it was immediately taken up by the Islamists. I saw my first riot in LS9 (Gipton) as a boy in the 90s. It was never televised don't even think it made it into the YEP. Harehills has never been looked at fondly. Muslim community here though has lived quite peacefully. The neighbour hood was a lot safer 15-20 years ago than it is now. A lot of eastern European immigrants live there now mainly Romanians who stand around drinking in the streets neglecting there families There's a good reason headlines are saying police have a heavy presence and that every things under control. They're shutting down our perception of an ongoing situation. Leeds is a growing time bomb with more angry mobs than police officers. I still cant believe city planners moved their biggest station away from the centre and put it opposite Elland road. 130million will do that though. Things are going to get worse when the realisation the tech boom has ended, the job market is saturated and the idea of studying at university is another way to enslave and rip you off
