How is no one speaking about the posibility that the nee admin. in the US strongarms others to reduce key sanctions, release the rainy day fund, pressure US firms to go back (those whoe left) and integrate them back into swift. This would massively improve the economic situation and thus the ability to wage war of the Moscovites.

Did syria provide income/technology/resource's or manpower to Russia ? NO. Syria was a gold/resource zink and it means nothing for the war in Ukraine. Actually it give those resources back to Russia to commit to frontline. Putin ain't falling because of Syria. He will fall because of the economy crashing hard, now he is out of cash and running on the remnants of his gold reserve. Maybe iran will suffer a blow back, but for Russia it's a gift.

I think ….no you are not thinking at all, you are merely promoting a silly story. Russia is not in Syria to fight Syria’s battles for it. It has obviously decided to let the west enjoy the chaos it’s created. It’s not a humiliation and it’s not a Waterloo. The west is trying to cause trouble all along Russias southern flank and Syria is far flung. It’s not that important. Putin does not sign off all military activity. He has a general staff for that. The west has lost so badly in Ukraine it needs something to trumpet to compensate. The hypocrisy in organising a country to be taken over by terrorists is terrible. The momentum in Ukraine is all with Russia and Ukraine is a massive defeat for the west. Trump holds no key cards. The Israeli so called attack on chemical stockpiles is just talk. They probably are just saying that. They are bombing military targets. His statements are pure propaganda. Nonsense really. Later they will send in experts and declare chemical weapons have been destroyed to back up the bull dust!

The Russians will probably continue to have a major presence in Syria, but with less responsibilities, the new leadership will likely strike deal with Moscow for food, weapons and medical supplies, especially with the recent aggression of Israel and the US bombing Syrian state property that belongs to the new leadership. What a disaster for Ukraine though, when tens of thousands of now unemployed Syrian troops begin filling the ranks of various Russian units in Ukraine. Men with extensive urban combat experience.

Some inaccurate information there I think. The US certainly hasn't been bombing anything in Syria, although Israel has. I suppose you could argue they are one and the same. As for Syrian's poor ex-soldiers joining Russia... that's an interesting idea. But I doubt that will happen unless Syria totally collapses. HTS took Syria with a lightning raid, not a conventional army with hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Their grasp on Damascus is weak. They will want to consolidate as much real power possible, as fast as possible. That means turning a raiding force into a massive conventional army, which will require them to make deals with every other faction. In addition, Syria is likely to soon be flush with cash, from Russia, Iran, Turkey, the US... anyone that wants influence there (which is everyone). Russia will pay huge sums to keep its military bases, Iran and Turkey will pay for influence, even the US and CIA will be hard at work trying to make the new government an anti-Russia/Iran ally. In short Syria will be approached by just about everyone, all of them offering cash for influence.

Russia's bases in Syria were an airforce base and naval base. They've already flown or sailed out of town. But the new Syrian government may let Russia keep its bases (which are critical for Russia)... for the right price. $$$$
