It in inevitable that Puitn will lose this war. Many commentators don't understand why. It's a simple numbers game - resources. Putin's economy was half that of the UK when he started this war - it's even worse now - he is going to run out of money to buy weapons and pay for his army. It' doesn't take a monetary economist to realise that it's not a good thing when your economy is based upon energy exports and your largest customer walks away. It's not a good thing when your central bank raises interest rates to 19%, 4 times that of the UK. We are witnessing the fall of a dictator - it really is that simple.

Many UK pensioners do have a starting point of being very much better off than Russian pensioners, I suspect much more than double Russian pensioners' income,. where you draw the line on winter fuel allowances is a political decision. Russia will win if the West stops supporting Ukraine. And Ukraine can win if the West continues its support, and it will win sooner if they increase their support. Russia was forced to withdraw from Afghanistan after significantly less losses, they knew they could not win. It’s almost as if we want there to be a frozen war with one fifth of Ukraine occupied by Russia. And a comprehensive win for Ukraine comes with a Brucie bonus. Mark talks about the different countries of the west seeing different threats as being more relevant to them; surely, the point point about the world today is that all these threats are actually each just part of the same growing problem, and we should be treating them as such and dealing with them using a holistic approach rather than trying to tackle them individually. The piecemeal approach is 'short termism' at its most dangerous and only ensures that the issues will fester and grow until the whole thing gets out of hand and out of control, just as with the second world war. The various governments throughout the western world think they are so clever in persuing each their own approach whilst trying to influence the others into their way of things. In reality they are all stuck up their own arses and really have no idea what they are doing.

While it's nice to have countries like Italy and Spain "on board" a Ukraine strategy, all these countries really need to do is not act like Hungary, e.g. not be Putin stooges. Which they're not, so that's good. The USA is what matters and to a lesser extent the UK, Poland & Scandinavian countries. America has something like 4-5 thousand Abrams tanks and 6-7 thousand Bradley IFVs, for example; many hundreds of which the US Army is never going to use & could be brought out of storage to be refurbished & sent to Ukraine. Honestly I am no longer this sure about it being impossible for Ukraine to reclaim all of its territory. Within days, Ukraine devastated what amounts to be 2 months worth of russian ammunition. This will slow down. Other depots are harder to reach and so on. However, with Russia barely able to make but the tiniest of progress towards Pokrovsk using 100% of ammo, one might ask, what Russia can do with only 75% of its monthly supply. In case Ukraine was to overwhelm russian lines in one point, they than can quickly and efficiently - like they did in Kursk - take territory right up into Russia. In the end, Russia might be pleading to do peace-talks while Russia is still no smaller than it was in 2013... Putin might bring thousands of men over and over again, but without proper equipment and ammunition, these will be nothing but cannon-fodder, up until basic necessities of the russian economy are no longer covered.

Very clear report. Well said Mark ........ Hope and pray Trump does not win the election for all our sake
@kennance115Ай бұрын
It is hard to say what Trump would really do, Don't put to much weight into what politicians say to get elected. It would be impossible to cut Ukrain off right away .IIf Putin won't get out Trump is just as likely to give Ukraine everything they need and get rid of the rules of engagement that favors Putin so the war can be ended soon.

4.5% growth, 1.8% unemployment and Russia is now the 4th largest economy in the world in PPP, the complete opposite of Western Europe in recession or the bankrupt United States.

6:48 - as predicted from the very beginning. this has strong pandemikky vibes: early on people said it wasnt going away but it also wasnt gonna be super bad, we are just gonna have to learn to live with it - but everybody kept pushing their agenda. same thing here. either way, never listen to the media.

Why does Times Radio repeat content in its videos? This is annoying.

This sounds like desperation from the people who stoked this reckless conflict and who are now facing a strategic defeat. I'm talking about the warmongers in London and Washington of course.

@@ThomasDanielsen1000 The peace deal only required some autonomy for Donetsk and Luhansk. It was a great deal for Ukraine which instead embanked on the path to total destruction thanks to people like Biden, Johnson Blinken Nuland Sullivan and Stoltenberg and their empty promises.

Very simple. America used atomic bomb when pearl Harbor fall. What do you think the Russia will do?

The american political rulers pressured and lured japan into attacking pearl harbor, and then nuked them twice after they were already trying to surrender, so it's not really comparable.

Winning for Russia doesn’t have to mean taking the entire country. If the Russian economy is as large or larger than it started with, and they control Donbass, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea, strategically, that’s as a win for Russia even if what’s left of Ukraine do end up joining NATO.
@kennance115Ай бұрын
Usually no matter how unfair it is Putin is likely going to get the Crimea and Ukraine territory east of the Dnieper River. This can only change If the rules of engagement are changed and Ukraine is giving all they need to Punish the Russian people and bring the war home to Putin.
