Okay to be fair about number 40, his past self was Pharaoh after Atem sealed himself away. Now with Atem in the afterlife he is one of two people in the entire world worthy of the 7th Millennium item. Also Kaiba Land didn't become Blue-eyes centric until after Duelist Kingdom, after Pegasus was already dead thanks to Yami Bakura. One correction though, you say DSOD takes place 2 years after the end of the series/manga and that's not true as it was stated by the creator in an interview in 2016 that the movie picks up a mere 6 months after the end of the manga

My Siri, as to why Kira was able to solve the puzzle with his algorithm is because they didn’t actually need the algorithm. The puzzle is likely very simple, but the magic only allows for a chosen one or something like that to solve it. Now, since the pharaoh is gone, and the magic is gone, perhaps it is just a bunch of pieces that fit into a puzzle and therefore it doesn’t really matter, if there is a chosen one or not, there is no magic in the puzzle.

Umbra and Lumis forced Kaiba (by kidnapping his brother) and yugi to a card game on top of a building where the loser falls to their dead (shadow realm).... Alister doesn't know he's been tricked by Dartz and tries to duel Kaiba for his soul. Kaiba even admits that Alister deserved to be compensated for the things that Gozaburo did to him, but he was mad that Alister lied and tried to buy out his company as Pegasus. The second duel they have, Alister nearly sends the plane (containing Mokuba too) into a mountain because the auto pilot got disabled. When he was on the verge of losing the game, he started to stall in an attempt to just kill all three of them by having the plane crash. Kaiba was trapped in the seal of orichalcos and Mokuba was inside, unable to do much to stop it from crashing. Luckily Kaiba used talk no jutsu to convince Alister to change his tune so he could end the duel (causing Alister to lose his soul) so he could literally save their lives keeping the plane from crashing. Later in the next episode, Kaiba even has them take Alister to a medical center. So I'm very very very much confused by what you're saying.

@@nytestar4035 I Know what they did. I'm saying while defeating Umbra, Kaiba showed great pleasure in handing him a painful defeat and didn't show empathy for Alister's capture. Regardless of their crimes, Kaiba wasn't the best person.
