Litchi app or Maven app Which is better?

Great comparison between the Litchi and Maven apps. I have been using the Litchi app for over five years now, on and off. I've tried out the Maven app yet, but I'm very impressed with it, from what I have seen in your video's. Another good tutorial Shaun. And it was nice to see some of your fans showed up at the end of the video.

Thank you Ron for your comment. I've noticed DJI have released the use of the Mini 3 to fly. I think Dronelink are using it but both Litchi and Maven are not using it yet and this has been a few months now. Glad you enjoyed the video and many thanks for watching and your support :)

Great video, i want to bring my Phantom 3 Standard back in the air but back in the day there wasn't much to choose from. Will the current Litchi app help me achi this? Great video

Shaun, very impressed here with this, as an iOS, think I'll give the Maven a go at some point. Very cool song choice. Cool that you added that bonus footage at the end, sometimes I do that as well. Spain, ahh what a country to fly around! It can make any drone footage look just fantastic. Cheers.

Thank you for your comment, I think they are both handy apps to have as you can get some great shots, that you can't get with the DJI apps. I'm lucky where I live, and I don't mind people coming up and asking about drones and not being afraid to ask. Many thanks for watching :)

Very interesting and informative, thanks. I'm swithering between these two apps right now, (for Android) but was wondering if there's some way of inputting the waypoint target height for the camera/gimbal to point at, rather than manually adjust as you fly? I'd have thought it would result in smoother footage if the gimbal automatically adjusted the view angle between each waypoint if this data could be programmed in pre-flight.

Many thanks for your comment and I'm sure you can input more adjustments with the camera and gimbal in the set up. Just to remind you that the Android version from Maven is just basic while IOS has all the features. Also both Litchi and Maven have still not updated their software for the DJI Mini 3 Pro (Waypoints) while Dronelink have but comes with a price. I've also done videos about Dronelink. Any and all DJI kwads that use the fly app uses 'virtual commands' that comes from the app and remote when doing these missions with any app. The older kwads, like the phantoms, had an onboard SD card that missions were stored on so commands came straight from that card that were instant. DJI done away with this trying to keep people flying within LOS to help comply with the FAA. Since the kwads now don't have onboard storage any and all commands and flight logs comes from and are stored in the app and remote. The small jerks we're seeing most likely happen because packets of information from the remote being lost because of signal being weaker. Keep the remote pointed as best you can towards the drone at all times to help keep the best signal possible. You lay a remote down in a chair, there could be a delay in commands because the signal quality is weaker and when it receives the next packet of info it has to catch back up and it will do it quickly.. hence the jerk. Enjoyed the video brother! Subbed! I used to have a lot of phantom 4 videos on my channel but deleted them a few years ago. Building another P4P at the moment so maybe more will come. I wanted another phantom just because of the onboard storage of missions. Good day!

Like you Shaun, I'm torn between the two. Being able to plan the missions full screen with the LitchiHub is good (especially on a 27" screen) There are some aspects of the Maven interface that I prefer over Litchi and vice-versa, but overall they're both pretty good and a world away from the very basic DJI interface and functionality of course 😊

I have and use both, what we do now see is the DJI hold back on features that a drone can do and provide it to the next drone. An example of this is waypoint mission in the Mini 4 but not the Mini 3 Pro and yet a third party app like Litchi will eventually support the feature. I don’t see why hyperlapse in the mini 3 pro don’t have a video option

I can't connect my dji mini 2 se with maven (ios) iPhone 13 pro. With dji fly app alla ok. Maven app says aircraft discinnected (never connected). Can u help me please?

Just seen the problem, DJI Mini 2 will work fine but the Mini 2 SE is not on the list, even with the Litchi app. Hopefully soon there will be an update as the Litchi app are doing Beta tests for the Mini 3 (android users only) it could take a while - sorry.
