I like how literally all it took was for ONE character's design to be changed for everyone to then completely suddenly jump ship and say that the Sonic movie is made by people who cared as if that somehow wasn't obviously true before Sonic's design was changed. People were unironically judging that movie before it even came out, let alone them actually seeing it. Same is true of the Detective Pickachu movie, except there the change in public opinion was even more ridiculous because no creature designs were changed.

Whenever a series comes out I'm mildly interested in comes out I try to watch at least two episodes to decide if I will watch the whole thing. I made it through 40 minutes of the first episode and I just couldn't finish it. I am all for new interpretations of a series or property but this isn't for me.

i am not for new interpretations lol. if you got a fanbase that likes characters, likes the story, likes these things why change it up? changing it up is for failing series, not series going strong. its like a restaurant. say they have award winning pizza. then they decide to change the recipe. what are the odds its gonna be better? roughly 0% 😂 so its doomed to fail. just like shows and games that are liked and do that.

@@colonelradec5956 except that both are food in your analogy. Everything needs to be reinterpretated when you shift mediums. Not going to defend Netflix adaptations, but yours is also an awful take. That's how you end up with things like Warcraft or Advent Children where everything only has meaning as a reference.

@@HellecticMojo if you think mine is an aweful take i dont think you understood it lol. my analogy is spot on. heres an example in action. dmc. some makers decided to completely overhaul devil may cry after devil may cry 3 and 4. they already had a recipe that was spot on that people loved in devil may cry 3. then they remade it all from scratch. and most people hated it 😂 why? because the recipe was already great. if you try to reinvent something thats already 10 outa 10 your gonna end up making something less than a 10. and so what do they do for devil may cry 5? they go back to the perfected recipe. and everybody loves it 😂 dmc5 and dmc3 are almost clones of each other with a little dmc4 mixed in. perfect analogy. and if i hear one more person say the term "take" imma lose it lol. why do people on the internet just start parroting words 😂 you maybe didnt get my analogy but it was spot on lol.

Why is it so hard for them to adapt Resident Evil? The first one is all about zombies and creatures in a mansion with a secret lab in the mountainous woods. "Welcome to Raccoon City" botched it by smashing two plots seperated by 2 months together and throwing references haphazardly while ALSO not understanding the characters at all, then this comes along and just does... whatever the fuck you want to call what it did. Completely missing the point, perhaps? So far the best thing this series got from live action was Sienna Guillory as Jill since she actually bothered to play the game to get some idea of how Jill is. The first films fine if a bit predictable/standard and the second one is a guilty pleasure for me since Nemesis was my favorite of the Playstation trilogy... the rest I can take or leave while having fun with all the bullshit they pull.

It's honestly mind boggling how they can't get this right...I think it's mostly to do with studios behind it. Because if even me a person with zero experience or knowledge about screenwriting or directing, can somehow put together a coherent idea for a movie or TV series then surely the professionals have to be able. It has to be studio interference or maybe "too many chefs in the kitchen" with writing the script. It's embarrassing

Wonder why every live-action RE still not done right? Think about it: - Alice Series - Welcome to Raccoon City - Netflix Show All 3 ☝🏻 are made by the _same_ studios , *Constantin Film/Screen Gems* . It pretty much tells you the cheap, crappy, terrible quality the production values the companies have. Just as 'The Final Chapter' ended, they announced back then the reboot and series in production. The reason they made these, is NOT because for fans, but because they want to *secure the rights from Capcom* . No adaptations made in the span of 5-10 years, Capcom would reclaim the property back. That's why they're quick to make the reboot and tv show so they couldn't lose the ip.

I watched the Live Action movies when my fiance decided to put them on & they are still by and large the worst things I have ever seen in my life. Even after watching this, which to me didn't feel like brain death, but those did. All 6. All those anderson movies are TRASH. But it doesn't matter bc Welcome To Raccoon City is better than all of these things & can be a delight to watch.
