Nah man, sometimes you just need to set sail after stressful day and chill out. At other times you just want to dive into the lore and ACTUALLY EXPLORE every nook and cranny of every island and become intimately fammiliar with the world once and for all. That's something you can't do if you constantly need to worry about other people.

I had plenty of company,megs and skeleton ships popping out every time i left land.I think the AI knows you got loot,they spawn more often when you have loot.I need a little more time to verify but it sure seems that way.

No need to verify. Players have witnessed this for years. Sail around for an hour with nothing on your ship, nothing. Get a bunch of chests on your ship, suddenly the game spawns a meg, two galleons, and a storm. 🙄 So incredibly predictable, and so cheap.

It would be good if u got unlucky day in public seas (many reapers, sunk your ship many times etc those frustrating things) then u can log off and then u can go to safer seas and take game bit easily. And put spotify playing in background or just do those tall tales. Then its like in safer seas you can do whatever you want and in your own pace or just do some training and go back to public sea of thieves seas. Hopefully you got my point what I meant😁😊👍

I agree, Safer seas will be good for doing tall tales or exploring without being attacked, although I feel it’s unnecessary to give players any % of gold or rep progression. If they’re trying to teach new players they should update the maiden voyage and better prepare new players for the open seas. But the gold and rep grinding (which is 90% of the content in open seas) should be done in open seas.

Well I mean, were each entitled to our own opinion on how the game should be played, personally I think if you payed for a game then you should be able to play it how you like, If you want to cause chaos and mischief then do it, If you want to sit back and have a laid back time then do it, We each experience fun in our own way, Also money and reputation is only used for cosmetics and merchants so I dont see the harm in safer seas giving money.

Last 2 days experimenting.You absolutely see more action when on your own server alone.When on high seas i can island jump and see very little to no action after 5 islands and full ship of random loot.Got attacked cashing it in at outpost.Then logged on safer seas and left marrick port to go to fortress to the west immediately attacked by skelly galleon.Made it to the fort they stopped and waited for me between fort and port like they had a vendenda.Loaded up the ship and put everything in a row boat I found on the way.Was able to go around them but then a meg popped up near crescent isle and mermaid isle they actually killed the meg and I got a harpoon on them and lie them up with fire setting my ship on fire lol.Eventually they sunk after ramming them again and not repairing my ship so i could throw water on theirs.I panicked and repaired before hand and was not able to bail on them so i had to get closer and harpoon,I found of you turn your wheel with theirs you stay totally out of their cannons.So yes there are way more spawns on safer seas and ambient events happen much more often,I have been snooping in files and found global limit sizes and events are limited and having 2 crews or more lower the chances of events for sure.I have only one issue,Purchasing an empty crate is like 3.4k gold. and entire fortress after turning in everything barely covers the cost of the empty crate.I mean common I get cutting some stuff but 70% is way to high of a cut.At least let me break a little above even.I dare anyone else to try that and tell me they made a profit.Once i was attacked by skelly i just let them sink me,I did not have 2 hours left to fight them and turn in my treasure.That is also insane having to make so many trips to vendors.More time hauling treasure than fighting for it.Makes me not even feel like logging on since the payout is so lame and I need to spend 3 hours for so little.If the empty crate is worth so damn much why won't she buy it back loaded with items lol.Should be only 100 gold for an empty ass crate.or less.Had to spend 6 hours on the seas to even find and empty crate.

Tbh I've been a solo slooper for years now, playing the game casualy on and off for years now but haven't been able to truly get into it because im bad at pvp and just get killed by a 4 man galleon so i can't wait for safer seas so i can get PL but can also see where the problems arise or maybe i just need to git gud lol

You can only get to lvl 40 rep in safer seas. Progression past that will have to be in the normal seas. (You need 50 in 3 factions to get PL)

Honestly, open seas is almost as relaxing as long as you stick to servers without reapers and do lower value stuff like treasuries and sea forts. I rarely get attacked doing those and when I do I have so many supplies that even as a solo sloop I stand a chance against brigs. No chance against gallies though. They just kill me with all four of their cannons.
