Yes, because it can provide knowledge to people, not only to our learners but also to people who do not know the story of literature .. Because of this we can better understand every story of literature about our ancestors. It will further expand our knowledge and we can share it with our young people, to give them an idea about literature and how to understand it. Literature can help our study because it is our guide towards our future.

Based from the video, literature is finally given to the Filipino learners under K-12 curriculum because even the elementary students are part of it and the teacher let them show that literature is exciting and fun thing to do. They can draw and write as well as speak on what they do in class. And even in senior high school, it is also taught since we need to adapt it in order to enhance more our passion in writing and expressing ourselves through that way that is why I can say that literature is constant and is always part of our lives even in and out of the curriculum.

For me, i could say that literature has finally given its place in the education of filipino learners specifically in the K-12 Curriculum. As stated in the video, literature is being taught level by level, as students begins they are formally introduce to literary related lessons/topics in every grade levels. Since it is how the process works, the expected literary competences must be learned by students, and therefore accomplish. So basically, i consider this reason to conclude that literature has succesfully make its place in education where it directly focus to bring every appointed literary skills and competencies to every grade levels in the current curriculum. I myself, i have been immersed to the different literary lessons during my grade school days, its one of my supporting reason for this matter to prove my answer.

Literature provides a language model for those who hear and read it. by using literary texts, students learn new words, syntax and discourse functions and they learn correct sentence patterns, standard story structures. they develop their writing skills. •When students study Literature, they learn to appreciate words and their power. They travel to other realms and times through the texts they read. They understand about their own culture and others'. They learn to empathise with characters, to feel their joys and pain •Moreover, in Literature, students develop a sense of individuality and creativity, as they develop their own opinions about issues in their texts. They also learn skills of persuasion - they need to convince others of their interpretations, and this builds their confidence.

--> Yes, literature is very much in the new curriculum. Literature is in proper place under the k-12 curriculum because it prepares the learners in what is desired of the DepEd, to be holistically developed Filipino with 21st century skills. In the k-12 curriculum, literature is studied by the Filipino learners to serve as a medium for appreciation of culture and life. The learners under k-12 curriculum will be able to demonstrate communicative competence through understanding of Philippine, Afro-Asian, British-American and other countries text types and a deeper appreciation of their culture. By the help of studying literature, the learners under the new curriculum come to a realization of valuing themselves and other people from the characters, learning lessons from the stories' circumstances, and using these lessons to connect to the world.

It sets up a clear definition of what the reader must possess in reading a literary work. * Literature should be taught as literature and not only as an excellent language use. * Literature is being given much more attention now than in the past simpy because literature has proven it's worth in preparing what DepEd calls the "holistically developed Filipino with 21st century skills."

I learned that: • First, creative writing skills is also included in the curriculum now and it is used for Kindergarten classes. It allows and helps them to appreciate and to be aware of literature from Day One of their stay in public schools. And it helps them to acquire knowledge which they can bring and use when they turn to Junior high school and develop it and improve up to higher level of education little by little until they become more knowledgeable. • Second, literature helps an individual in achieving four variable types of skills such as an effective communication skills, media and technology skills, learning and innovative skills, and the last one is life and career skills. • Third, literature is very important in teaching language, because the ultimate goal of teaching language is to helps and allows learners develop their communicative competence as stated in the K to 12 basic Education Curriculum Framework. Literature is important in the new curriculum in the education of Filipino learners, becase it gives them knowledge about past and appreciate it and maybe we can apply all of those in our daily lives. That's all, Thank you Sir for that wonderful and meaningful topic. God bless and keep safe everyone!

-Literature is taught as a particular form of language,we can gather a better understanding and it can improve our vocabulary skills when it comes to literature and literature is a major factor in achieving these goals. -There are two subjects explicitly focused on literature,in the second semester of grade 11, it's called "Contemporary Regional Philippine Literature" the course is derived from the current college course called "Literatures of the Philippines" and in the first semester of grade 12 it was called "Contemporary World" and it derived from the current college course called "Literature of the World" -Why is literature being given much more attention now than in the past? -Because nowadays at K to 12 curriculum literature is important that acquire the learners and literature has proven it's worth in preparing what DepEd calls the "historical developed Filipino with 21st century skills".

1. Why is literature so important? Literature allows a person to step back in time and learn about life on Earth from the ones who walked before us. We can gather a better understanding of culture and have a greater appreciation of them. We learn through the ways history is recorded, in the forms of manuscripts and through speech itself. 2. Why is literature important in the curriculum? Not only is reading literature important in developing cognitive skills to be able to succeed in a school or work setting, but it is valuable for other reasons as well. ... Students can learn to evaluate and analyze literature, as well as summarize and hypothesize about the topic. 3. What are the literature competencies in K to 12 curriculum? DepEd breaks down this overall outcome of basic education into four verifiable types of skills: information, media and technology skills; learning and innovation skills; life and career skills; and effective communication skills. Literature is a major factor in achieving these four skills.

In this video, my takeaways are: 1.Literature is life.We can learn, understand and appreciate the world. Reading literature is the best way to know who we are, what we are, and what we used to be. 2. Students need to have a literary competence that help them while approaching a given literary text. The teacher’s role is to provide her students with a number of skills to inhance the their literary competence. 3.Developing literary competence is one of the most important outcomes of teaching literature. This refers to students’ internalizing the grammar of literature, which allows them to convert linguistic sequences into literary structures and meanings. The essence of literature offers students an opportunity to perceive and evaluate their own worth as individuals.
