Many of the critics are not angry about Ciri being the main character but that she is severely nerfed in order to be a witcher since she was already far more powerful and in order to become a withcer the trial of grasses has to be completed which the lore says only males can do. So understandable criticism and concern but we shall see how it turns out.

A lot of that is just noise from people who don't even play games. If you've read the books and played the games, it's obvious this is where it was going to go. To continue with Geralt after where Blood and Wine ended would only cheapen that ending. It also would go against Geralt's character, since he always wants to stay out of bigger events. The only reason he was involved was because he was looking for Ciri and she doesn't need to be found anymore.

It was obvious Ciri was gonna be the main character when the Devs said the ending she ends up joining Geralt as a Witcher was Cannon. There's also the fact that Ciri is a character we've all grown to love throughout the Witcher saga. Giving the story an already strong emotional core the dev can work arround to create another amazing story. She also looks great here!! Older, battle hardened, grim. Anybody saying she's ugly is a basement dweller looking for a virtual girlfriend 😂

If you didn't notice ciri has green viper eyes so that means she went through trials but her medallion is a lynx so she definitely has the mutations because no woman has ever went through the trials that makes ciri the first actual female witcher

@souprice8390 nope no females were ever put through the trial because they thought they wouldn't be able to handle it but now that has changed but I believe ciri was able to go through it no doubt because she's already powerful but geralt went through hell to get his regeneration mutation they had to break his leg his arm and his hand and then he started having a fever and brain hemmorages due to his eyes starting to change and turn into the viper eyes we see now but he was able to hear further and more around him and smell things further away just like a blind person would be able to do

As far as I remember from the books, Geralt and Yennefer essentially retired to another dimension at the end. I know that is not how the last game ended, but I think after 3 games it's fair to move on. And if you got the ending in Witcher 3 where Ciri went on the road with Geralt, it was really very clear where this would be going. Also... Ciri looks fucking badass here!! Probably about 15 years older, and it shows; she looks battle hardened and grim... I love her already! I hope they don't screw her character up.

I am also super happy to see her as the main caracter. Also I think all endings of w3 could lead to this game. Because over the years CDPR has kind of confirmed that Ciri didnt actually die in the bad ending, but instead simply didnt contact Gerald anymore. With the empress ending in B&W she does comment on how she doesn't like politics and really doesn't want to be empress, so she might have changed her choice and run away in between these 2 games.

Ciri looks to be in her mid thirties yes, but she could be a couple decades older if she took the trial of the grasses, which she seems to have done since she used the potions

one of the "good endings" for Witcher 3 is Ciri becoming a Witcher, the whole scene with her and Geralt warms my heart so much in that ending. CDPR has been setting this up for a long time and its so exciting to finally see it.

Ciri was NEVER the main character. Just because she's more powerful doesn't make her the MC.. The show flopped hard entirely because it didn't focus on Geralt. People are fed up with the industry tossing away beloved characters for an updated modern audience. Indiana Jones and Luke Skywalker come to mind. That sours something like this. CDPR is not the same team that did the other games. The new team is the definition of "woke" and people are sick of it. There is no faith in them doing justice to Ciri without making her insufferable. If it was a solid team then I'd be excited for this but as it stands no chance. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong..

i hate to be a hater here and maybe i am just a bigger fan than i think i am but Ive looked at a lot of reactions and the amount of people who don't know what game this is until CDPR pops up on the screen is crazy. I mean the music itself and voice dialogue is a good indicator and then once you see the sword its go time. but all in all great video!

Comme la voix officielle de Geralt a confirmé sa présence dans le jeu mais avec un rôle secondaire. Perso j’aurais adoré pouvoir créer mon propre Witcher avec Ciri comme maître, mais bon je pense que la future trilogie se calquera sur la première et sur les livres, et, que CD RED réserve la personnalisation pour Cyberpunk. It's great to see Ciri take over, thats cool. Also, the cinematic trailer looked great. Then again, Cyberpunk 2077 looked like it was going to be great prior to launch and while it definitely got there it launched in a terrible state. I hope they've learned from that. If it's a day1 Game Pass release I'm excited enough to grab it on day 1. If not, I'll wait until I know it's in a good state first.
