The implied nudity helps but honestly I feel that the real ones all instantly call it's Witcher 4 on that scene more because of the colour gradient. It's a more subconscious thing but that dark but quite rich brown and maroon colouration is really distinctively associated with The Witcher. Where a lot of other games go for more washed out greys and browns Witcher likes to push these like rich but very dark colours. We just instinctively see a Witcher-style colouration and know. In the same way if the song that started playing later in the trailer had played early we'd all know just because "oh that's a witcher-style song."

Geralt is confirmed to be in this game. One of the stories takes 100 yrs after he retired and he is still somewhat active, so he can be be active in this game. The voice at the end of the trailer it is Geralt! That is the actor voicing Geralt. Also, CDPR Boston studio has been working for 3yrs on another game in the Witcher universe. It is either a co-op or a multiplayer and that will come out fairly soon. I can't imagine they will skip Geralt trying to start another franchise.

Something no one really noticed in the trailer is that Cirilla kind of struggles physically cutting up the monster and that makes sense if you think about it. She needs 3 hits to cut of one of the arms. She needs 2 hits to cut of the head. She also uses that chain tool. And she helps herself with reaching to the veins of power. I think they did it on purpose hinting to us what the gameplay will look like. More agile and trickery combat + more gameplay around magic rather than brutal strength like in the case of Geralt. Oh and P.T Adamczyk is responsible for the music again, so its guaranteed that the game will be full of bangers :)

But I already know the game is gonna be good since they show Ciri struggle physically, which is perfectly normal as she is a woman. That's how women should be in games/movies. I agree and disagree in a sense, I think you're right absolutely will be more tricky with her. But I don't think it's just for a gameplay reason, Geralt had trained for so many years before becoming his legendary self. Ciri now having maybe 10+ years max under her belt it's giving us a more human developmental feel and also it makes me wonder... She was able to do slay monsters before (proof with Witcher 3) how far was she able to actually go in the trial of grasses and what kind of magic helped her. I'm hoping the game and devs explain it!

I wish devs wouldn't announce new games so far out. As a Mass Effect fan it's been 4 years since ME5 got announced and all we've had is a single trailer and some art.

Game is actually probably more in the 12-24 months release window as Cyberpunk was announced in 2012 but development only started in 2016 after Blood and Wine and took 4 years. This has been in production since 2022, so 4 years would lead us to 2026, which seems to be more on the norm for standard AAA development. Not only that, but I do not believe they would be stupid enough to announce a game 4 years in advance, a mistake they have already made and corrected in the past (with Phantom Liberty). This is in engin and they have said that pre-production was over, which means that the story and systems are pretty much ironed out and all that's left is to actually make the game, which should not take more than 2 years for a team of 400 people going in full production mode.

They show his knife in his waist when he confronts Ciri at first then in the end scene the same knife is in the girls chest and he is saying "all we wanted was for her to woods, to go to the gods" He straight up killed her and that was the intent all along even if her dad didn't believe so

It’s pretty obvious that it’s the guy that killed her yes, since the daughter was the sacrifice it makes a lot of sense that he would just kill her to fulfil the “prophecy” that needs to happen. The “gods” didn’t take her because Ciri saved her, he deemed she still needed to die to ensure the safety of the village. That’s what they would believe with their superstition and thus as says, there are no gods just monsters and that’s including him.

2 small details I genuinely loved about this and hope tells a bit about the gameplay. 3:55 - That aerial spin that we should all be HELLA familiar with that Ciri would absolutely have been trained to do... this means her technique and style will be similar to Geralt's 2nd thing, I think they specifically showed multiple times that Ciri is not as physically strong as Geralt, the sword getting pinned by the monster and her struggling to free it, taking (i think) 3 hits to hack off that limb at 4:32, 2 hits to cut off the head. I think it shows that the combat overall will have elements we are used to from playing as Geralt but will be more geared towards what Ciri's strengths will be which is her speed and agility... plus having to take multiple hacks to chop up enemies will make the combat even more gritty and brutal which im fuckin here for.

In the fight, it looked like she used a shield spell once, which is Quen if I am not mistaken.... but the color was different...it used to be yellow golden but was more reddish here. There's an interview with IGN explaining that she undergoes the trials at some point. People are also saying the end of W3 caused a second conjunctor so the world is more dangerous and I think it's fair to say she lost her time space powers when she stopped the freeze. She still has her elder blood of course which may make her special enough to survive the trials.

The monster was protector, and the girl was not intended for sacifice but she probably was an adept, and future protector, monster who protected the village. In some sense she was a proto-Witcher for the area or for the portal where other monsters could enter the earth. They both die, killed by Ciri and mob. The fate of village and maybe all earth is grim. Monsters will go trough the portal.

in my opinion and it's just speculations : In the game Ciri had to pass the trial of the grass because something or someone has nerfed her ancient blood power (remerber Guys, Ciri at the end of the witcher 3 was litterlally OP (travelling through dimensions and other stuffs) and i'm so happoy about it because it shows something really good narratively speaking. I think Ciri will be about 35 years old, and she have grown to typical beautiful Polish girl - that's all I can say. from the perspective of a 37 year old Pole. Ive only ever played witcher 2. I was a good game but its a little jank on the gameplay but I really liked the maturity of the games.

For the uninitiated (those who haven't read Sapkowski's books), the action of this game (and it will be a new saga) takes place a few years after the end of The Witcher 3. Ciri passed the test of the grasses and for those who are not familiar, as a teenager in the temple of Melitele, Yennefer taught her magic, so Ciri knows how to obtain elemental energy. I recommend reading the books.

I loved Jo Wyatt's performance as Ciri in Witcher 3. It's very early as the game is still in development, but that is not her. Hopefully it's just a scheduling issue and not that they're recasting.

like that ciri is the new protag. always wanted that. but im a bit put off by her being an actual mutated witcher. since that breaks established lore and makes zero sense. vesemir is not around and i doubt geralt or yen would agree to it. it's very risky and ciri already has elder blood powers and saved eskel's life against caranthir. i don't want a "female geralt" i want ciri. and if they just turn her into a female geralt that'd be pretty lame. since her elder blood powers open so many possibilities seeing as they let her travel through time and space.

No, that's never what I said. I love The Witcher, I just prefer games that are more linear, and its open world overwhelmed me. The gameplay was also not the best. Still absolutely an incredible game!

i think it's fine that we played as ciri, caused geralt should be retired, ciri basically the character that have been built since the second game, I think she would be the best predecessor to geralt. all I'm trying to say is that CIRI IS THE BEST CHOICE FOR THE WITCHER 4 PROTAGONIST.

Remember people: a game isn't good until it's out and you can play it… this was nothing but a cinematic trailer. Also, on a personal note, Ciri's face looks weird.
