Hi everyone! I’m ‘the girl’ in the reaction. But I’m also known as ridezeshoopuf on twitch. After rewatching the trailer, I can tell it’s not Jo Wyatt’s voice, but I understand why they’d do a recast. I’m also a huge Witcher fan, so this was easily my favorite game announcement in quite awhile. The original voice actor's voice was way too clean for someone who has gone through the trials. I think they wanted her to also sound more gravely considering all the potions she's been drinking basically poisoning herself over and over again. Won't have that cute high pitched voice like she did in The Witcher 3 anymore after all of that.

2 insane reveals in this trailer. First is that you saw her drink a Witcher potion and use Quen. She's mutated. And second, you saw her draw magic from water. And then use it to cast a lightning spell. This is a completely new Ciri. The ultimate Witcher/Sorceress. Both Geralt and Yennefer as her roots.

My girlfriend is a huge fan of Witcher and Ciri. I wish I could have seen her reaction to Witcher 4, but sadly, it was only through text at the time. While the trailer played, my phone stopped lighting up, because she was so awestruck by the reveal. A minute or two after it was over, the texts came flooding in with how excited she was. it's either ciri is in skellige or velen, but i think she's in velen. velen is also known as "no man's land" and people there really clings to spiritual comfort, just like the people who worhsip the crones, also this video is purposely to mirror geralt's arrival at velen and killing a bunch of men to save a girl from being hanged, this trailer also mirrors geralt's fight with orianna in the blood and wine dlc, with drinking a potion and using quen, and using equipment with geralt using a crossbow and ciri using a chain.

I was holding back all excitement about "Polaris" / Witcher 4 game until I found out who was going to be the protaganist. Once I saw this trailer, I was so FN hyped and excited!! shes wearing undvik style witcher gear set, probably her version of ursine. (since kaer trolde royalty is her close family). that monster is the mother of the crones from witcher 3 so i assume that the canon story now is ciri become witcher at the end of witcher 3 ending and the mother of the crones are set free by geralt to save the children from the crones. the sword seems like her new version of her original sword called zireael, this new version is probably her grandmaster version. her eyes are different than other witchers which indicating that her elder blood causing that to happen. she can cast a new version of quen (red instead of yellow and blue) which maybe also caused by the elder blood. she can cast a lightning magic which i assume she learned from yennefer. geralt is in the game, but he will be as old as vesemir in witcher 3. the trailer took place in the northern realm (either velen or skellige based on the ambience). she seems to have lost her elden power or not using it because she look herself more as a witcher which a path she choose herself than being the heir to the elden blood by force.

I started the Witcher 3 when i was at home after my second knee surgery that i had to get because im disabled [ I have SB ] so i was pretty much alone at the time, without friends. There were 4 people in my day to day life. I don't know if you wanna read all that so im gonna go straight to the point.... W3 at the time was the only thing that gave me happiness. Especially since Witcher 2 and Witcher 1 were my childhood. To this day i've only cried twice playing a video game. Red Dead Redemption 2 and the second one is at the end of Blood and Wine. However i think this "Is Ciri not Geralt, it a woman not a man" is being a Red Herring, a Distraction, a Decoy for what really is important: Quality! If this game is bad, buggy, unfinished, poorly written, or has a lazy plot, then gamers will wrongly address the issue because the protagonist is a woman. The company will accuse everyone of sexism, and worst of all, the company will be considered right, even if they deliver a terrible game. This is a pattern or behavior, and because of this, 10% of ridiculous, noisy sexist gamers can make the majority of us (90%) either accept and defend a buggy, bad game or be labeled as sexist. This is the tactic of the entertainment industry right now, including Disney, streaming services, movies, and game industries. If you don't like a game for the right reasons: Unfinished/Incomplete games * Buggy games (I'm not a tester and don't work for you; I'm actually paying you, and I don't want to pay to test your game. You should pay me!) * Poorly written, lazy plots, and underdeveloped characters * Outdated graphics for a AAA game standard * Then you are labeled with the wrong terms (sexist, xenophobic, racist, etc.). * Unfinished or Incomplete Games: We shouldn't have to purchase games that aren't fully functional or lack essential content. * Buggy Games: (I'm not a tester and don't work for you; I'm actually paying you, and I don't want to pay to test your game. You should pay me!) Paying customers shouldn't be forced to act as unpaid quality control testers. Game developers should release products that are free of game-breaking bugs. * Poorly Written Stories and Underdeveloped Characters: We deserve engaging narratives and well-rounded characters, not lazy writing and shallow character development. * Outdated Graphics: Especially for AAA titles, we expect visually stunning experiences that push the boundaries of technology. When we voice concerns about these issues, we shouldn't be unfairly labeled as "sexist," "xenophobic," or "racist." Step back and look at the bigger picture. It's a recurring pattern. These companies portray themselves as victims, but the real victims are us, the consumers, the gamers, the people who pay exorbitant prices for their products. If you don't buy their products, you're wrong. If you complain or criticize, you're are backlashed for the wrong reasons because it's all a set-up. It's a deliberate strategy, a massive trap! Look for the signs human memory is short that is a problem, a teenager of 16yo will not remember because he didnt live to remember, there is no enought lugdge in his back to him to critise this companies, he is young... the worst is the olders +40, they just dont remember anymore, or pretend to not remember, or worst, they put their heads down, accept this crap because this companies are using nostaugia against us! Using our feelings, our love against us! Am I too paranoid?!?! I see this clearly with: - Disney Star Wars: The Acolyte, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, Tales of the Empire, and the divisive Episodes 8 and 9. (Honestly, if I hadn't listed them, would you have remembered? This is why these productions were so forgettable, and you've probably missed a few.) - Disney Marvel: Most content post- Avengers: Endgame, with a few exceptions like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 from a director that now is associated with DC. - Bethesda: Fallout 76 (yes, people have short memories, but I remember) and Starfield. - EA Games: The endless cycle of uninspired FIFA titles, punctuated only by the innovation of loot boxes - a clever way to exploit and steal players without being labeled as predatory, as Gambling. - BioWare's treatment of Dragon Age: A tragic downfall that effectively killed the franchise. There are many more examples, but I hope my point is clear. Do you want The Witcher 4 to suffer the same fate? If not, let's criticize for the right reasons! "The house always wins"... unless we do something about it! We need to address a more critical issue in the gaming industry: the prevalence of pre-ordering buggy and unfinished games. By pre-ordering, we're essentially paying for a product that may not live up to our expectations. This harmful practice enables developers to prioritize profits over quality, resulting in the release of subpar games. It's baffling that people defend companies that release such flawed products. Would you buy a laptop with missing keys or a book with torn pages? Of course not! So why do we accept this behavior from game developers? Are we so blinded by brand loyalty that we're willing to tolerate such blatant disregard for our time and money? Cyberpunk 2077 is a stark reminder of the consequences of pre-ordering. Despite the hype, the final product was a major disappointment. We can't allow our favorite franchises to suffer from rushed releases and poor quality control. By continuing to pre-order, we're funding this behavior. To demand better games, we must refuse to purchase unfinished products. Let's use our wallets to send a clear message: we won't tolerate subpar gaming experiences.

I was wishing we had a new character and had the whole ciri, geralt saga behind. But it makes sense that ciri is the mc now, she is already one of the most beloved witcher characters. Hmm... I agree. Don't forget that Witchers age a lot slower after their mutation. Gerald was nearly a hundred years old. Ciri looks like she is about 30 to 40, but in reality even more than a hundred years could have been passed. Radovid is only a mortal, so chances are high he already died years and years ago. A lot can happen in only ten years, let alone a hundred years...

I don’t understand how she could have the cat eyes. Adults can’t survive the trials to become a Witcher, girls can’t either. Ciri is both. Uma was an adult elf and took half of one trial and had to be kept alive by the hardest magical feat of Yennefer’s life, who was herself one of the most accomplished sorceresses ever. That by itself tells me this game will have no respect for the Witcher lore, and by extension, no respect for the players

Someone doesnt understand the lore then. No where in the lore does it say that girls cant survive the trials. Also, you literally just gave a reason as to why Ciri would be able to survive the trials. Yen modified the Trial of the Grasses so Uma can survive it. One can easily assume that Ciri underwent a modified version of the Trial of the Grasses that allowed her to survive. Also, really, no respect for the lore? Why are you suddenly drawing a line in the sand now, when CDPR has been changing the lore since the beginning? Geralt and Yen literally died at the end of the book series, and CDPR brought them back. Why is that lore change forgivable to you and not this supposed lore change?
