The Lithgow LA102 in 223 is just as accurate as the 243 and 308 versions. These rifles just shoot and I was able to achieve a 5-shot group at 300 yards measuring 2.1" using factory OSA 55gr Gameking ammo! Being Australian made, they give you a sense of pride to own one!

The rifle arrived today and I dialed in the scope just a couple hours ago kzbin.infoUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL . I haven’t shot with a scope in probably 25 years. The X on the left was my target. (the shot almost in the bullseye on the right X was my father in laws first shot after I made adjustments) The two shots circled are my first 2 shots. Then I brought it down - shot once. Then brought it over to the left. From there zeroed it in to dead center. This all was from 25 yards out. Follow instructions carefully when mounting the scope. So far I'm very happy with the purchase.

Hey Dude, I'm about to get my first rifles and was thinking how much I like the look of these and would it be weird to have identical rifles - 1 x .22 and one .223. How are you liking them ..? Any issues ..?

Thanks so much Ozzie I’m new to the sport .So new I’m still waiting for my license. All my research has led me back to either the Tikka or the lithgo LA 102 in 223 . The finish and quality on the lithgo looks really inviting and your down to earth reviews give fantastic feedback. The lithgo made rifle has helped give us the freedom we have today so I’m all for supporting an Aussie made and developed quality product. So with that my decision is made ,the lithgo it is . Thanks Ozzie keep at it . Jezza

Much love for my Lithgow .22! Got a few .22 in the safe now including a vintage Krico and borderline antique Mauser , while the old German rifles are beautiful, Lithgow runs circles around them and any other .22 ive shot which includes some lovely old Brnos. My best group is about .6moa so far,still finding exactly what it likes to eat though, as well as improving myself so its only getting tighter! If i didn't have a Sako .223 (i gun napped it from a mate who doesn't use it)in the safe already,id be grabbing a Lithgow for sure! If the Sako gets re-possed by its owner, I know what ill be buying! I found a nice all original all matching Lithgow no1 mk3 that when i finish paying it of will keep the .22 company!

The 73 grain Hornady was too heavy (or too long) for the 1 in 9 twist to stabilize. Apparently, the 69 grain Lapua was stable, but it might lose stability farther out, like say 350 yards, and widen up. Everything lighter was stabilized by the twist rate. AR-15 guys, of which I understand there are now none in Australia, use a 1-in-7" twist rate for the heavy .223 projectiles.

.223 is such a fun and effective round. I own a few myself. Including AR's. It is a caliber that is very important to match rate of twist and bullet weight. Best quality rifles and ammo but get off with either and you will see the difference in your groups. Good stuff!

You call it a laminate stock. I call it a plywood stock. What glue is used to laminate the stock and how long until it starts to delaminate if used frequently in wet or damp weather ? It's a bit of a worry to me.

223 - cheaper ammo, doesn't heat up as quickly as 243, less noise and no over penetration like 243 has on roos.

Britishshooter 1 second ago ozziereviews, posting this again because I am not sure how often you check your comments on older vis. Anyway I saw your other video about with the comprehensive breakdown of the gun laws. I am considering moving to Queensland as a farmer so as a primary producer, in short, am I right to think that I would be able to license a semi auto shotgun (incidentally any barrel length restrictions?), a semi auto .22 rimfire and a semi auto 308 rifle and a 9mm semi auto pistol for feral vermin control?
@ozziereviews
@ozziereviews 6 жыл бұрын
You can get a semi-auto rimfire rifle up to 10 rounds and a pump/semi-auto shotgun up to 5 rounds easily enough as a primary producer. You will run into a mountain of road blocks for a handgun and semi-auto centrefire rifle as a primary producer.
@Britishshooter
@Britishshooter 6 жыл бұрын
ozziereviews. Thanks mate, I can live without the semi auto centrefire but it looks like I must find a farm near a pistol club so I can eventually get a pistol again. Lost mine in the 1997 ban. Can you store your club pistols at home or do they have at remain at the club?

We were one of the first to order and waited a LONG time. In the scheme of things, it's a small factory mixing it with the best so the rifles will probably never sit on shop racks a dozen at a time. The customs thing may have been a stupid joke or a retail newbie trying to make excuses. Your wait will be worth it.

They can get Lever , bolt action rifles or Shotguns plus Semi auto pistols or revolvers with the proper license , it’s just harder than other countries like the USA for example . Semi auto rifles are hard to get but not impossible , it can only be licensed for occupational reasons . I suggest you to read about category A B H firearm laws in Australia . You’ll understand it better .

Why do you use imperial measurements?
@kekeke4467
@kekeke4467 6 жыл бұрын
while i cannot speak for ozzie, i would gues of the reason is that as the United States is the largest civilian gun market in the world alot of the gear uses imperial measurements as that is what the americans use. In addition to this a good number of people were taught to shoot using imperial measurements (though this is changing) and a good number of the older ranges were measured out in imperial units.
