did you ever upload the files and details anywhere? would love to try this for myself

That's awesome. It's been a while but I would absolutely buy one of those if you made them. I accidentally found this looking for printed stands, the stands are super expensive now too.

Seems like a great idea! I bet if this gets some traction people would be interested.

Thanks! Unfortunately like most of my projects, I didn't exactly strike when the iron was hot lol, but who knows, maybe some people have these with damaged battery holders that haven't been able to use them due to that

I would definitely be interested in seeing some plans for this (or buying the custom compartment), batteries leaked all over mine years ago and ruined the contacts, so I'd love to make it fully functional again.

Just FYI, I had the same thing happen. I was able to clean the contacts with lemon juice and vinegar, works good as new now. Just use a qtip to scrape off

So, I've done some testing, and to go from a full charge the lowest point you'd want to discharge the battery, 3 volts, you get nearly 18 hours of runtime on the blue mode. However, at that point there is a noticeable difference in the brightness of the lights, and generally I would want to keep the battery a little higher than that. The type c charger board I have has the output discharge protection set to 2.5v, which is probably about where the actual board inside the lipo is set as a minimum to prevent critical damage to the cell, I'm going to have a look at the pat numbers on the chips and see if I can modify it to increase it to about 3 volts. Unfortunately I already epoxied this one in place, so it's another 10 hour print, but I think worth it if I can to increase the longevity of the cell simply by replacing a resistor or something like that. That being said, 12-14 hours of runtime would have you at about 3.4v iirc (Should have logged that) and I'm very pleased with that. Obviously if you're using the sounds a lot that would decrease some, but orange might also draw less power.

Did you ever put up the file for this? I need a new battery cover since mines vanished and this would be amazing

Just had this idea to see it was done before. Anywhere someone like me would be able to get the stl files for the custom compartment? Wanna make one for mine.

Hello, I own a NECA Portal Gun (bought second-hand) and I'm looking for a project to replace the battery compartment when I stumbled upon this video, as mine was already corroded on purchase. Would it be possible for you to put the .stl file for the battery compartment somewhere? I would be more than willing to pay for it if necessary.

If you are ok for selling some (or just one) of this, if it's fully working and ready to go, I'll be super glad to buy one even if its expensive :) Hope you can ship it to france ;)

Are you posting or selling the files anywhere? I just pulled mine out of storage and it's missing the battery compartment
@JunctionRunner3 жыл бұрын
That might be a good option, I was thinking of selling the whole thing, but it is pretty simple to put together with only some minor soldering.. It was a fair bit of work and iteration to design, so I'd be charging for it but I could put it up on cults 3d if you wanted to download it to print yourself. Filament printing would work, though I'd probably suggest a .2mm nozzle if you don't have access to resin. It will take a bit to grab the parts list and put it up, but I could probably get that done in the next few days.

@@JunctionRunner Hey, did you happen to post these files anywhere? Would absolutely purchase them (... or even a manufactured part if you were selling them)
