Hello again😅, I think that a video about the new systems purchased by Lithuanian Air Force for NASAMS would be quite interesting for many peoples, if you could make it, it would be very cool 😊

While Pzh2000 is amazing afaik wheeled artillery is cheaper to produce and cheaper to maintain. While performance in its firing role is very comparable and still being very maneuverable. So you get same firing capabilities by sacrificing survivability. War in Ukraine showed that Caesars got lost more often than Pzh2000. Pzh could take a drone hit and survive. So overall its still a step up from towed arty which is great.

Ukrainian 2s22 Bogdanas now have a bunch of problems, but they are quickly developing and could become a fast to produce and cheap analogue of CAESAR. In my opinion Lithuanian army should think of buying a large number of Bogdanas in towed or Tatra-mounted version after the Ukrainian army equipment export will be opened in any way. A small amount of howitzers would not be so decisive, as a large amount of maybe cheaper ones

It is actually the opposite. There is less attrition with Caesar than others howithzer because it is highly mobile. It can shoot and scoot. As a result it has a highest survivability than others on the Ukrainian front.

Pz2000 is literraly a crap always down or under maintenance , ask to ukrainian . Stop your bullshit , Caesars have the best demonstrated survivability of all howitzers

Man, this is sad - Estonia buys these on their own, Lithuania on their own, each of them paying more than what they would if bought together in single, unified tender. Latvia also is planning on procuring wheeled SPG's in coming years and damn it will suck if we again, as we in Baltic states seem to almost always do, if we again buy our own, different howitzer than what LT/EE have already bought. And even if we buy the same, we will be paying more for them since it's smaller purchase and the price is always higher when you buy less.

A better choice would have been the RCH 155 from KNDS. It does have the ability to fire on the move. But compared to the Ceasar (5 Mil. vs. 12 Mil.) i think it was too expensive.

Today there is no better choice in the world than the Caesar.

There are fewer credible modern 155mm systems than most of you have fingers in a hand. A good choice.

With drone warefare you have to fire and then move quickly. The tracked howitzers are too slow and leave a distinctive trail from the air. With the Lithuanian road system these can lay down fire then move to a new location. The assigned combat teams need to be familiar with all the roads in their area of operation and have a method of position registration not tied to GPS which we have seen is now easily "distorted" by EW,

On the other hand Pzh2000s have been extremely survivable in Ukraine and we have established infrastructure for them here, what with long-term local operations and servicing the Pzhs from ukraine.

All depends on the terrain. Somewhere tracked vehicles are faster than wheeled ones.

Do you realize that artillery shoot up to 60 km while drones do not fly more than a few km? If the enemy is in an artillery gun position zone it means that the frontline has been breached way too deep. And infantry have been destroyed.
@silmaril96
@silmaril96 5 күн бұрын
@Moliugas89 Are you talking about FPV drones? Those fly a few kilometers, yes. But there are other drones that can operate further (read about ruzzian Lancet). They can be used as surveillance drone for artillery counter-fire or actual explosive drones. Not even talking about Shaheds, and this sphere is rapidly advancing. Your opinion is wrong. We would be dealing with enemy that outnumbers us in everything, shoot, and scoot is the only way to conserve equipment and fighting potential.

With drone warfare, you have to hide under wire meshes. In Ukraine these mobile guns move 10 meters out of the dug out, shoot a couple of times, then go back into the hiding. The mobility is simply not used. The towed gun has advantage, because there is almost nothing to destroy in that thing. You can strike it with nuclear bombs and the barrel will still survive. Replace the carriage and you can shoot again. Another thing is that the towed gun is 2-3 times cheaper, so you can have 3 times more guns. In the case of these truck based systems, if the truck is damaged, the gun is lost. It has all the disadvantages of a towed gun, and none of the advantages of a mobile armored artillery vehicle.

I appreciate your videos but this military themed content is starting to get repetitive. Are you really going to make a separate video for every piece of equipment lithuania purchases each week? I miss the vlog content about lithuania you used to make. Just my two cents.

Russia has no quality tech compared to NATO. They do have advantage in numbers however. Doesn't matter how crap russian artillery is, if it's 10 barrels against a single Caesar - quality alone won't do much. Lithuania is a small country and small population, so we gotta be very smart about our strategy and tactics, we just can't afford to suffer the same losses as russians do.

In Ukraine, Ukrainian artillery is countered by Lancet drones and ruzzian artillery counter-fire that employs quantity over quality.
