This lesson reminds me of my father. He was American born but my grandparents were from Lithuania. After they died, so did my father's use of Lithuanian in our household, except for counting! It was funny because when he had to speak Lithuanian like to outside family members, he mixed it with English which made no sense. We called it his "chicken Lithuanian". Too funny to hear him try.

Hey. I commented on one of your videos some time ago. That guy from Estonia volunteering here for a year. In this video you dictated the numbers and I had an idea. Maybe you have done it already (couldn’t gone though), but could you perhaps do some Lithuanian dictation to really better my listening? I would be very grateful for that. Or perhaps you know any site or place where I could find something like that?

it's still weird for me to think that , there are feminine numbers in Lithuanian .In Spanish , English, French, and German there is no such distinction. Thanks for the lessons !: P:S: Well , now that I think about it there's a distinction in Spanish, French and German, but only for the number "one" .

@@Soulandbone Wow! That's great! May I ask you why are you learning Lithuanian? If you would like to tell it.
@Soulandbone6 жыл бұрын
Sure, Edmundas :). My grandparents were Lithuanian (Rokiskis) , and I got the Lithuanian citizenship last year in March. I'm making the paperwork to go live in Australia and in the meantime I wanted to get out of Southamerica, so I figured Lithuania would be a good experience in the meantime. That way I can also be in the land of my ancestors and I'm sure my grandparents would very much love that. So that's basically the reason. Also I believe in getting out of our comfort zones, I haven't really been a fan of cold weather haha, so that aspect will be interesting. Lithuania it's also a country of differnet language and customs, but I'm up for the experience. I'm sure great things will come out of that :). Another reason is that I want to work on a start up, and I've heard that there are plenty of good opportunities for business development in Lithuania. So that aspect also interests me.
