When my mother died I was looking after Pebbles, her cat (the best cat in the entire world!), for about six months. I think I was doing about half of these things wrong. The worst is I think I was using clay litter. I'm going to go to the store to see if the type I was using is clay. I hope not. Wish I had seen a vid like this at the time. Pebbles seemed quite happy though. She really enjoyed watching me work on my work table (making underwater camera systems). When I was soldering I didn't want her to burn her nose or something so I blocked her from getting on the table and she would get mad and run around trying to find a way onto the table the entire time.

attapulgite is the usual stuff in clay litter. The problem is also some kittens eat ity and yes it sets in their stomach,

now for those who scoop out but don't clean. coronavirus in cats is passed out as cysts with the fesces, since it's a stomach infection with cats, if you just scoop out, you leave them there. cat walks through another area and spreads it. 70% contagion rate, 70% mutation rate(20mths quarantine clearing it form a cattery) we went through a lot of Virkon(disinfectant) Feline Infectious Peritonitis is the fatal form of Coronavirus in cats. the more cats you have the more mutations you get.
