these plovers are some of the dumbest birds, this video says gold coast so i'll say this. there was a breeding pair who insisted on having a nest in the open grass in the middle of brisbane road. i really could not imagine their offspring survived. they tend to make nests in the dumbest places.

The parents are protective but lose most of the chicks. Sadly nearly all of this batch fell into the marina and perished. Yes near Hope Island there's a pair of plovers on the centre strip, I don't think they ever make it sadly.
