I am the one that posted this video clip. My grandmother and I use to watch this movie together until she passed. We are Alabama Choctaw. This was our favorite part of the movie. When Cheif Dan George says "The only trouble with snake women is they copulate with horses, which makes them strange to me. She say's she doesn't. That's why I call her "Doesn't Like Horses". But, of course, she's lying. " Stop the stupid shit or I will take it down. Enjoy life, and laugh. I miss my Grandma.

It’s a beautiful scene that made me cry with sadness and then again with happiness. Little Big Man doesn’t get much airtime which is a shame and I’m not sure why. Chief Dan George was such a great soul and spokesperson for American Indians.

I pray she wins,so I don't have to finish this life alone. I named her little dove,cause she only alights for a moment...always a smile on her face. I originally saw this in the theater in its first release (yikes - am I really that old??), and always remembered that scene, one of my favs. I also like when he's tarred and feathered by his own sister, and the numerous "Little Big Man, my heart soars like a hawk. Along with Atticus Finch's speech from " To Kill A Mockingbird", in court, and the closing scene from "Dances With Wolves" when Wind-In-His-Hair (Rodney A Grant) says goodbye to John Dunbar, and Ruth's death scene in "Fried Green Tomatoes"; and the Gettysburg Battleground scene from "Remember The Titans", this is on my all time best movie moments list. Chief Dan George stole this movie. Geat movie!! (Richard Mulligan as Custer was brilliant, too.)

I dont know why this movie doesnt get more air play and cred, its really a masterpiece. Is the storyteller one of the biggest liars ever in the old west, or did he live the most amazing experiences? The story of the war and genocide against the plains indians is well documented here. Chief Dan George I believe won a best supporting oscar, or was at least nominated. "Am I still in this World? Geeez. I was afraid of that".

The name "Snake-woman" is from the sign for Comanche (which is what this wife is). The reference about copulating with horses is an old Plains Indian joke because the Comanches were among the first to embrace horses and all that they could bring. The tribe was widely regarded for the level of horsemanship displayed by both men and women. Old-lodge-skins had himself a pretty serious woman for a wife. Read the book. It is a good work of historical fiction. Lots of little details on Plains life.

The accumulation of the scenes played by actors - and then woven into a story is fiction but the facts and the history they're based off of are very true. Every scene in this movie could have happened in reality throughout history in different events across north america. So- fictional story based off real life events throughout history is the real way to describe this movie
