Slms aunty and uncle! It's very sweet to see how you treat your DIL, and considering from different culture. DIL are happy when they land into right hands, and you've proven that. You understand she's a girl from another family, she joins your family, and you welcome her with open heart. My family are exactly the same. Except, sadly, my inlaws, not great, Allah swt give them hidayat. I'm opposite to your situation. I am Kashmiri/ pakistani, and I married into Indian family that expect housemaid not a human being / daughter. From young age my family given me independent like, with boundaries. I never had controlling mother / father. The moment I married, my life became fully controlled by my in laws, to the point of suffocation. My husband gave no support, and this was his 2nd marriage. Constant abuse about my family and culture it became unbearable to be in toxic environment. Thankfully with my career, and independent life my parents gave I battled through and restarted my life! I think its important for parents to ensure their daughters mainly are independent, resilient and know the different between abuse and respect! Also understand the traits of narcissist and gaslighted, as these were very new in my life. Hope and pray no woman has to go through such difficulties ❤
