One of my favorite scenes from BBCs "Little Dorrit" with the remarkable actor Russel Tovey as John Chivery.

"I may not be a gentleman...but I am a man." I love that line. He's just so full of raw emotion here. How can you not feel for him? I cried for him. I also love this line: "How can you say you don't know it? Anyone with eyes could see it. These walls know it." Perfect. Just perfect. This is the climax for John's character for sure. I loved Russel in this. Just fabulous. Stole the scene completely out from under MM. Can't wait to see what else Rusell Tovey does

Just incredible. The first time I saw this whilst watching the series was, I believe, the most moving TV moment I remember. The generosity of a man giving another man the thing he loves most, even though that causes him the utmost pain, is so powerful. Congratulations to Russell. You nailed it!

I LOVE RUSSELL TOVEY IN EVERYTHING HE ACTS IN HE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND ADORABLE AND EMOTIONAL AND HE IS GOOD AT SHOWING HIS VULNERABLE SIDES TO HIS CHARACTERS THE FIRST THING I EVER SAW HIM IN WAS BEING HUMAN EVER SINCE I'VE SEEN EVERYTHING HE HAS PLAYED IN, HE IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST BRITISH ACTORS OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY

Russell Tovey is such a phenomenal actor! Incredible range and exceptionally gifted at both comedy and tragedy, he is perfection in every role. He really doesn’t get the acclaim he deserves, he should have got an Olivier for Angels In America!

Such a touching scene that Russell performed a masterclass in acting a broken hearted man

John Chivery, not a gentleman? NOT a gentleman? He shook his rival's hand, when he felt like thrashing him. If that's not a gentleman, I don't know what is. Yeah, that's right. Zero dislikes. No one DARES dislike this video.

There is literally nothing that Russell can't do. 35 here and never been as big a fan of any other actor. Wish he were a lead on the big screen with Simon Pegg and/or Rowan Atkinson; he does both comedy and tragedy extremely well (you have no idea how rare that is) and those three together could work miracles. If Little Dorrit were in cinema he would easily have won an Academy Award.

Aaaawww :( I felt so, so sorry for poor John and his broken heart. I was hoping she would marry him at the end.

Unfortunately she didn't. She had absolute no interest in John, she ONLY saw him as just a *friend.*

Is Russel Tovey even capable of acting without crying? There is such a thing as over acting. Matthew Macfadyen's performance in this was subtle and believable.
