Great review. I just bought one from lowes. Locking system is a little different but they probably changed it or have slightly different models. One tip for handling the ladder in extension mode is get it to the length you want it and then pick it up on the end furthest away from the house. Walk towards the ladder and keep taking it up one rung at a time as you walk under the ladder. Then when you take it down lean it towards you and grab onto a rung and slowly walk out moving one rung at a time. Makes it a lot easier.

HappyRider Reviews After watching your demo, I actually got to clean the gutters in front of my house. Afterwards, I’ve extended tons one line to the highest possible, but as I got up to half way, the fear of height or the fear of not trusting the ladder would hold, kicked in. Ouch... all the set up. What’s your trick in dealing with going up 18 feet on the ladder?
@HRR6 жыл бұрын
In all Honesty, I’m afraid of heights too lol. But I did had to go up to 20 foot when I was putting up our recess light around the house. My thought was this, I weigh only 150 pounds, so that’s way below the maximum weight limit. So that took a lot of worry off my mind. Second and third, I made sure The ladder it snugged in one spot by pushing it down into the ground really hard AND I had another person standing down at the base of the ladder to make sure it doesn’t move at all. And lastly, I Did NOT dare to look down once I’m up higher than 8 steps. Go up, finish the job without looking down and always made sure I have 3 points of contact with the ladder.
@seridianlight6 жыл бұрын
HappyRider Reviews I will give it a shot again! The mistake I’ve made was once I was up there, I tried to see how high I was by making comparison to the buildings next to me. That wasn’t helping. You’re strategy make a lot of sense. I even bought a stabilizer to the very top of the ladder. But the roof extends about 2.5 feet out from the house so it made it even more difficult. I will give it a shot again! This time I’ll keep those elements you’ve mentioned in mind! Thanks again buddy!!!

Nice review! When in the fully extended A frame step ladder mode, it would have been nice to have actually used your tape measure to measure the height instead of just saying "about". Still, now we know that this ladder allows easy access to a 12 foot ceiling or perhaps even a little higher.

My family room is 25' and I need to replace a ceiling fan that is in the center of the room. Will this ladder go up to 22' "A Frame" style? I see extended it does, but that won't help me.
@HRR6 жыл бұрын
In the A form, it will not reach that high. You would need the Skyscraper model to go that high up. It’s quite expensive, but will get the job done. Here’s the link to it: amzn.to/2KsPzBz

It was sagging a bit when you climbed it fully extended. How stable is it fully extended? Do the feet seem to be giving you safety?
@HRR4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I just made sure I pressed down real good to the ground before I get on and tilt it towards the house good enough. This is by far the best and most sturdy ladder I’ve used
@markm64444 жыл бұрын
It did sag quite a bit, I'm 6'2 and 215 pounds, I worry this ladder wouldn't be stable enough to use fully extended.
@dennycrane42614 жыл бұрын
Just a tip bro, that ladder on the full extent on the roof is too far away from the vertical, a rule of 4:1 MUST BE FOLLOWED to avoid accidents or extreme pressure on the ladder, if you extended it 22 ft, that mean that your ground point should be no longer than 5.5 ft from the wall. It is an awesome ladder but at that height , no extra precaution is too much.

Ay man thanks for finally making a video with me. I'm down to collab again anytime. :)
@hoaly11736 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great video. At 8:10 minutes the ladder was fully extended on the ground. Now I am just wondering how did you (one person) carry it over & erect it against your house/roof (by one person)? Did you have some help to erect it? how many more people? & how did you erect it? because at 8:13 it was fully erected (thus, missing a segment, a gap). I really want to learn this missing gap & technique, bc my family of 2 had a difficult time to erect a ladder just like yours. Thank again.
@HRR6 жыл бұрын
I actually did it myself :) Took me a while, but I was able to do it my self. However, be very careful though. So if you unfold the ladder fully with only ONE side fully extended, then go ahead and rest it onto the house, and then now, with the un-extended side of the ladder being on the ground, use one hand to hold BOTH steps, the inner and outer steps on the unextended part of the ladder, making sure so that it doesn’t fall down on you, and with the other hand, open and unlock on both sides of the ladder, then start to push the ladder up and extend it out, one step at a time. Then finally lock both locks back with one hand while hold the ladder and steps in place with the other hand. Again, I would recommend to have two people, makes life much easier.
@scottj11525 жыл бұрын
Accomplishing this yourself is easier than it seems. I followed the instructions that accompanied the ladder: Once the ladder is opened all the way to extension mode, lay it down with the steps and wheels facing up. Use the rock locks (the ones that look like rocker switches) to release first the inner ladder on the end with the wheels and adjust to the desired length and then make sure the rock locks are reengaged. The wheel end will be at the top, so that end should be positioned away from the wall. If the ladder is still not long enough, adjust the other end until it will end up being three rungs taller than the edge you will lean against, and make sure all rock locks and hinge locks are engaged. Now flip the ladder over so that the steps and wheels face down. Put the feet opposite the wheel end against the wall you want to climb. Then go to the wheel end and lift the ladder up over your head and grab the first rung. Now walk toward the wall as you grab each successive rung to push the ladder up to a straight up and down position. Then you can carefully lift up the bottom of the ladder and walk it out from the wall and set it down at least 4 feet from the wall, or more if you're working with an overhang of a roof. The rule of thumb for this is the height of the ladder divided by 4. So, if the ladder is 12 feet high, the bottom should be at least 3 feet out from where the top of the ladder rests. A good test of the correct angle is once you think you have the angle right, climb up the first rung or two and if it feels too steep or if you start lifting the top of the ladder away from the top edge, you need to move the bottom further away! Hope this helps!
@optionstrader96375 жыл бұрын
Only thing I saw in the video is with a ladder for every 4 feet of rise you want 1 foot out from the house at the base because that's where they are the most stable.
@pshute24 жыл бұрын
I agree, the base looked way too far from the house when it was against the roof. Could slip when you're near the top.
