Hey Wels! One thing for your enchanting Setup: It is a common misconception that 15 bookshelves give you the best enchantments. even though you CAN enchant with the full 30 level enchants, to get the best odds at multiple enchantments and the best ones at these you actually need 19 bookshelves instead. Also you can use the corners of the ring too to achieve that, they will also be counted in ^^

So the simplest change is just adding one in each corner, and moving the slabs up

@@yoko3182 I know I'm a little late, but some tips: Don't worry about your first campaign. you're going to screw up the first time around, so don't be hard on yourself. get yourself a book or two, or maybe even a module. find a decent amount of players (starting out, I'd recommend 3-4, though two is fine with a non powerful NPC). also, you are going to almost accidentally kill your party at least once. it happens, just lower the damage die if it happens a lot, at least while you are still getting in the swing of balancing

My mothers dog had the same ball just be careful and watch when they play with it he got so excited running after it and barking at it he had heart attack while playing with it the vet said it was probably frustration and excitement all rolled into one because he couldn't grab hold of it and give it a good old chew. so really while he was playing with it he should have been monitored and he wasn't hope this helps because in the right situation they are a brilliant ball my dog has one and has never had a problem but we do limit his time with it

You talking about your dnd experiences makes me feel compelled to comment mine. I had a lot of campaigns that only ran for a few months before too many players had to leave or the DM had to leave and it ended. But I did manage to find one that I was in from level 3 to level 20. Players came and went. Only the DM and I were the people who persisted from start to finish, although there is a guy who joined us at level 9 who got all the way through the campaign with us. That campaign lasted 3 years and ended recently. And now me, the Dm, the guy who joined us in the previous campaign at level 9 and a new girl have started a new campaign that’s been going a little while. We just hit level 4 last session and it’s going well. It took me a while to find a D&D group that stuck, but this was my first proper one. Then on a slightly sadder note, there was campaign I was in that was 18+ in its content but mostly in a funny way, sort of like The Boys. It was really fun. We were about 4-5 months into the campaign when the DM said we’d have to put it on hold because he was going to be homeless for about a month (it was an online game). I haven’t seen him online in 2 years. He was fun to play with and I actually thought we were starting to actually be friends. It’s sad when you loose online friends like that that you don’t know in person. Maybe the time frame isn’t equivalent, but it sort of feels like if Xisuma or Etho just stopped making videos or posting anything and disappeared from the internet. You couldn’t help but be worried for them. On a happier note, there are the two other campaigns I have running. One of which is one set in space where we go from planet to planet and it is a bit bonkers. It’s been going for about a year and I’m level 13. And the other one, which is probably most relevant to this, is a group I came by thanks to the MCYT community. There was a group of fans who made a recap for Empires Season 2 like there is the Hermitcraft Recap, and they had a discord I joined. When Empires Season 2 ended and they needed some people to help Recap New Life SMP, I joined in to help write the scripts for Sausage and Shelby. And in that discord I met some people, one of whom was a DM planning a campaign, and several of us then joined to play in their campaign. All the others I joined from looking at posts on the D&D Discord. This was the first group I joined that came about organically. We are just a bunch of people who like Minecraft and D&D and we now play dnd, and have been for about 6 months now.

I noticed the 2x1 painting above the shelf, which I *think* would also be high enough that there's that awkward unused space behind it - maybe the painting could hide a secret doorway into that void? Not sure what might be back there either lol, maybe just a sign that trolls any sneaky visitors or maybe a "secret" hiding place for valuables

12:36 If you are interested in playing another system, Iron Kingdoms is a fun one (there are the D&D supplements and also one that is separate from D&D, the separate one is the one I'm talking about). The system is quite combat focused, but not much more than D&D is. In this system I'm playing two campaigns and in one of them I'm a trollkin (humanoid that is related to trolls like humans are to the other great apes in the real world) that rides a bison and uses magic by extracting the furry from his winter troll, and in the other one I'm a noble (in the sense of being part of the nobility) mage who is relatively high ranking in the army (you can guess how pleasant he is to interact for the NPCs).

D&D is such a fun game. There’s no one way to play, even with licensed adventures. It’s sort of like Minecraft in that respect, there are limitless possibilities. That might be why there seems to be so much overlap in D&D players and Minecraft players. My own campaigns are going quite well. My home game that my older brother runs that’s been going for 5 years had finally hit its third arc, and I’ve been looking back at my character development and have been very happy with how far I’ve come as a player and a person through D&D. I also started playing in an online game in January, and it’s been a lot of fun. All but two of the original players have dropped out for various reasons, but most of us have been playing since close of the beginning so it’s been fine. I’m excited to see how my character develops as we play. We just hit 5th level, which means my edgy drow bloodhunter has finally come into his own mechanically.
@KirliaFan158 ай бұрын
It made me so excited to hear about your DnD adventures! My friends and I have been in a single campaign for now going on 8 years 😅 it started when most of the group was wrapping up highschool and we would spend 12 hours on a Saturday(3p-3a) doing almost nothing because we would get off topic so much. We learned to work better together and we went from lvl1, 4 character deaths half were permanent the other half got brought back for lore reasons. But we have essentially played a homebrew war campaign that could be broken down into at minimum 3 modules that could be done reasonably and make sense. I've been enjoying the campaign. At one point it became a bit much for our DM to do every week so we cut back to every other with the "main" campaign so we have gone through 3 other "side" campaigns someone else in the group would run which each has run about 18 months or so before either writers block hit or we messed up so bad the apocalypse happened. Thankfully, or unthankfully(?), we haven't run a murder hobo campaign yet nor any established modules yet.

Started playing D and D when I was stationed in Seoul, S. Korea in 1980! Still playing nearly 44 years later, mainly as a DM. My DM in S. Korea was a psychologist by day who ran the psych ward at the 121 Evac Hospital where I worked as a med tech. Enough of this drivel! 😀

By day? what was he by night? - but that's incredible, did you play many campaigns throughout your tour there?

@@_Meai_ We tried to play twice a week. Dr. Hostetter tried to DM twice a week so that we could work around all of the players (4 regulars and others that cycled in and out of the game over the year I was in Korea). So yeah, quite a few campaigns in that time. Thanks for asking!
