Great video! I did it as a day hike the other day, Oct. 9, 2024. Gorgeous scenery. My morning photos were my best with the morning sunlight on the mountains and the clear air. I was short of breath often, but I took my time. Regards, Andy

OMG...thanks so much...I had an awesome backpacking trip to upper Morgan Lake about 15 years ago...parked near Tom's Place...I couldn't remember the name of the lakes and tried to retrace on Google GPS but never succeeded. I saw this and thought it looked like the trail I remembered...it is! Now I can show my wife the trail and lakes...and relive the joy! Thanks for posting!!!👍

Those rocky mountains are really, really beautiful. The chipmunks were a lot of fun to watch! acrobats! Man, I could see myself setting up camp at any of those spots and be really happy! Amazing that there were so many people there on a weekday!

Yeah it's a gorgeous area! The Chipmunks were a little bit of a surprise but I'm glad I got them on film LOL. Yes a lot of people actually camp on this Trail so that is an awesome option. Yeah it is a very popular hike even though I just heard about it around 3 or 4 months ago LOL. Thanks for checking out this adventure my friend.

What a stunning trail, Eric! Lakes and mountains just never get old, even when you see a bunch of them! I think Gem Lake was my favorite for its color. I understand why that's a busy trail. You want to say "wow" at every corner! I am going to have to talk to Evan and hopefully, we can make our way down there next year. Thanks for this gorgeous and helpful video, Eric!

Yeah the mammoth lakes area is awesome and you could probably spend 2 weeks there and do different hikes every day honestly. This hike was pretty gorgeous and the views stayed that way the entire hike honestly! Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you guys make it out here! Thanks for checking out my last three videos by the way.

Looked a real busy car park but I can see why, looked a real cool place to go for a hike but man, I would hate a 5.5 hour drive back home afterwards. Loved the lakes and surrounding mountains and you sure had a great days weather for a hike. Great trail and nice that you left something for the next visit, great reason to go back, cheers Alan

Yeah it's definitely a good thing to get there early obviously. Every section of the hike was just magnificently beautiful! The good thing is there are plenty of other Trails here that I can come see on my next visit. Alan I really appreciate it thank you for watching!

Another wonderful hike Eric. The mountains, the lakes... just stunning. I was wondering, is there any alternative to get to the start of the trail by public transport?
@adventuringoutdoorswitheric3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the video thank you. It is truly a wonderful hike. No there is absolutely no public transportation to get to the trailhead here. No Ubers or anything like that. Thanks for watching my friend.

@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric Oh bummer. I guess I'm too spoiled by all the public transport options we're having here in Switzerland, it didn't occur to me it's not the same everywhere until this video. Silly me. Thanks for your answer.

You planing your annual eastern Sierra hikes for this summer? Just got from Bishop last weekend. Walked the road up Lake Sabrina. Trail was not doable but the lake was stunning!! Still frozen with open water melt. I really really wanna hike Little Lakes but it’s looking like all or most of the lakes will be frozen in July. Either way…I’m heading back up early July, lol ✌️

is it safe to walk alone ? I mksean could it possible to run into a bear or some other large animals ? Thank you
@adventuringoutdoorswitheric Жыл бұрын
Well, overall, it's better to hike with another person, especially if you are an inexperienced hiker. For myself, I take precautions. I always make sure the weather is safe. I carry bear spray for the wild animals, which i've never had an issue with. I hike only on well marked and traveled trails. I know my limits, and I know when to turn around if I don't feel safe or I think I might get lost. I Do Not Go Off Trail because that is a good way to get totally lost.
