It was great meeting you on trail. This video completed the end screen of my video. It's awesome to see three different perspective of Little Lakes Valley from 3 KZbinrs.

There are two groups on Facebook that I’m a member of: John Muir Trail Hikers 2019 and John Muir Trail. Just search for those groups. There could be others, but those are the 2 that I’m aware of and a part of. Love your videos-have watched the one of Devils Postpile to Tuolumne Meadows several times because I’ll be hiking that in a few months! Thanks so much for sharing!

That was sweet! You're lucky, it seems like you're in the ES every other weekend! Love those shades! And you're right, winter isn't over. I was on Mt Baldy today....snow from Manker Flats all the way to the top!!

Coleman Outdoors wow amazing! So much snow this year. I get up to the ES as often as I can - can’t get enough. Thanks man - shades were picked up while in Germany and I think they are billabong or something along those lines. Happy trails!

Burr! Do you like the snow will be melted in mid July through Donahue pass. Man I planned a 8 day backpacking trip, I think now I might need some more gear. Lol. ??? Do you us crampons? My friend says he does like using them, but are they really necessary., I’ve never used them either in the snow. Just confused if I should but them$$$, for A July trip? I appreciate advice.. it’s been awhile since I backpacked. Thanks .. you have a great channel... love all the places you go. Thanks
@Sheety335 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey Vasquez so hard to tell right now if the snow will be melted by then - id say the majority of it along trails will be but may never completely melt at the higher elevations. I use crampons only when icy. I think by July you will be good....I have more trips planned in June and feel free to hit me up about conditions. Thanks for watching!🤙

I postponed a trip up there all the way till July 7th so as to (hopefully) be able to cross over Tioga Pass. It has been many years since I have seen that much snow this late.

Over to the right is "Mow know" pass not "Ma no." "Mono" (Mow know) is a Paiute word meaning fly eating people. "Mono" (Ma no) is the opposite of stereo. As long as you come up here to Mono County and in the area of Mono Lake, you should remember how to pronounce the name correctly! 2017 was the record breaking snowfall year in the greater Sierra Nevada, along with the record setting Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) at Mammoth Pass and many other snow survey sites. It just beat 1983 by a little bit. The spring and early summer of 1983 were snowier, however, as it continued to snow a few times in June. I was living in Bridgeport, CA that year and at about 0530-0600 on the 4th of July I got up and found 4" of snow on the lawn on the west side of my house. The back lawn, on the east side of the house, had already melted off. 2017 warmed up in the last days of March and April was warm as were May and June. A lot of snow was still on the ground in August, still blocking trails at the highest elevations. This year (2019) was the 6th heaviest snowfall or SWE, since records have been kept. The second week of May was warm, but its been cold ever since. If June this year is as cold as 1983, trails will still be snow covered on north slopes and in shady areas. I live north of Rock Creek at 150' below 8,000' and have a bit of snow on my lawn in the shady areas.
