I promise my comment isn't meant to be rude, but I was in and out of foster care most of my childhood and had an abusive mother who frequently pulled a gun on me, and chased me around the neighborhood with it. It made me into a kind kid who wanted to help anyone who was suffering like I was. I remember being told that my parents must have raised me right. Sometimes kids act well when raised poorly, and some kids act bad, when raised right. The kids in this video deserve the most credit for their behavior.

This is how sports are supposed to be! When I was a high school wrestler, I broke my neck in a simple half nelson. The other wrestler was devastated to the point of wanting to quit the sport. He used a straight up move with exactly the technique and force needed. It was just random chance. Coulda killed me, but didn't. Wasn't trying to injure me at all. Fortunately he stayed in his program and I'm told he got a Div I scholarship. As an adult, I'm proud of his grief and his concern for my wellbeing, and I'm proud of his effort and contribution to his school. The guy was a warrior with a heart of gold. I know how the pitcher felt. I'm 66 years old now, when I was 12 years old our little league team had a cookout. All the players were naturally on the field playing ball. I had a pitch get away from me and hit the batter. He was a friend and teammate and the pitch hit him above the wrist breaking his arm. @StayNightGaming Жыл бұрын
@@andrewdorie4010 do you always go around intentionally misinterpreting what people say?
@andrewdorie4010 Жыл бұрын
@@StayNightGaming How did I misinterpret what he said? Firstly, he said "what a man move", implying the kid acted like a man or did something that he learned from a man, and I just don't see any evidence of that. I mean, you could easily find video of what happens when men plunk each other with baseballs. Often, these situations turn into fist fights. And, the pitcher was standing at the plate, everyone expecting him to just shake it off and keep pitching. All the parents, all the men, just sat back and expected the kid to keep playing. It was a kid, acting like a kid, who found a moment that was more important than the game and walked out to the mound to console the guy. If anything, this kid did the opposite of what men and adults typically do in these situations. Secondly, he gave credit to the parents, without any evidence that parenting had anything to do with this situation. I work with teenage boys who have been stuck in the foster care system their entire lives, boys who don't have parents, have never had parents. And I see them act selflessly, compassionately, kindly every day. I've met countless young men, and young women when I worked with young women, who develop strong characters without good parenting, if anything, despite growing up with absolutely terrible parenting. I can think of many friends of mine who also became selfless and compassionate people who now work in my community everyday despite not having good parents. The kid did something special here. We should learn from him, not give ourselves credit for his actions. The parents, if anything, seemed surprised by the turn of events. Why would they deserve credit for that?

Can’t have a nice moment without someone saying MAN BAD, saying man would not do this everytime [which doesn't even make logical sense] asserting people's motivations and expectations [ a mind-reader?], asking for sources, and immediately trying to discredit men. Sacrifice and going beyond yourself IS a manly behavior, look at cops, firemen, military, fathers, husbands, our great leaders. Fantastic men. In the case of those without family, it's a testament to the genetic greatness of men. This boy was raised well. He would look at Andrew's comment and say, actually no, I didn't do something so great, and would give credit to the other men in his life, that's what we do. Discipline, remaining humble, recognizing that we aren't the center of the universe. The only thing we learned from Andrew's comment is that he is weak & arrogant and that he couldn't just sit back at this display of strength without a self-hating virtue signal.

THERE IS SO SO SO Nothing wrong with this and the reality is that the emotions of both to be there and express how they feel and console each other is more adult than most adults... proud of both of them

Give that kid in blue the sportsmanship award for the year or something. Thats "bring a tear to your eye" level sportsmanship and clearly caring more about a person than a game. Parents should be extremely proud.

Amazing sportsmanship in these young gentlemen. Respect for all the coaches and players that came in to comfort them as well. This is how it should be.

I'm glad we live in a world where videos like this can be shown. It reminds me I might still have a soul when I can actually feel the emotions from it. Good job, young men.

Ah, I used to be a softball pitcher and I remember those emotions of hitting another person accidentally. I sympathize with the pitcher. Brings tears to my eyes watching them hug it out. Great kids.
