How lovely to see inside, I have passed it many times in the 1960s but have never visited it.

Fantastic video! Thanks for posting 😊 Last time I visited Little Moreton Hall was in 1972 when I was 14 and in my school uniform! I remember having my photo taken in the courtyard. I just joined the National Trust and I intend to go back very soon. Beautiful place. I remember on the school trip we did Little Moreton Hall in the morning and Hardwick Hall in the afternoon

Thanks, Little Moreton Hall is one of those historic gems, like yourself I visited when I was a kid, then later in life visited many more times, always something to explore and interest and inspire! I hope when you visit you have a wonderful time, and make sure if you want to know something, ask the staff, they are very helpful! Before you go you may wish to visit one of our articles on witch marks, as there are many on show at Little Moreton Hall. Please see: sites.google.com/site/charlesfaireyhistorian/publications/protective-devices-apotropaic-symbols-and-witch-marks or www.mysticmasque.com/history-mystery/protective-devices-apotropaic-symbols-and-witch-marks :-)

*THE WEIGHT OF THE ROOF* on the long gallery alone is 32.5 tonnes - this is why the building is so buckled and twisted.

Personally I think the outside decorations are a bit much and distracts from the natural beauty of the building itself.

Why would anyone take small children to a very old house?
@saiyaniam2 жыл бұрын
Why not? They'll appreciate the environment far deeper than any adult. As we age we lose the magic of life and become more analytical and machine like. Children's bring life and magic to a place. It's not like they're just screaming their heads off.
@veronicaroach36672 жыл бұрын
Never too young to start learning about history. If their curiosity is primed at an early age, they never unlearn that recognition that there is a lot to discover. Those kids who never go anywhere with their parents are the sad ones !
