Needless to say, Dr. Roberts gave an excellent and very needed presentation to his audience. This talk regarding race that Dr. Roberts gave should be a recording in ALL the educational institutions around the country and be played daily. And, I'm proud to say that I have a copy of his essay on Taking Executive Control. And, I marvel at how his 1st grade teacher inspired him many decades later. In fact, after writing this, I'm returning to my study to RE-READ the essay. An essay that I shared with my former students. May BLESSINGS follow him forever!❤

I am a young white girl and was at central high yesterday. I was and will forever be the best day of my life. At the time I did not know he was Terrence Roberts because I didn’t recognize him from the pictures. I smiled at him and he smiled back. We did that a few more times and he asked to shake my hand. I shook his hand and he told me that I would make a difference in the world. The fact that one of the people who made one of the most amazing changes in history believes I can do that has inspired me. I am almost finished with summer reading and I will get all a’s next year because of Terrence Roberts. Although it was just yesterday it ha sand will change my life forever, if you are seeing this Terrence thank you, for making my life 1,000,000 times better

It's a shame that the tribulations and sacrifices of people like this gentleman are largely unappreciated by today's recipients of those very sacrifices.

Very interesting man. I could have listened to him and his thought provoking ideas a lot longer than 51 minutes.

But, it is fewer people who hold such prejudices because of these brave people. There were originally about 150 African-American students who wanted to attend Central. Their numbers were whittled down to nine after limitations and dangers were explained to them. These nine should never be forgotten. Ever. As a teacher, I do my part to not look at the victims of such prejudice, but rather empower students to identify injustice and resist.

@DanTheMan9867 do you really feel this way about African Americans. You know this country wouldn't be as great as it is without the work black people were forced to do hundreds and years ago..
