I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be O gauge. Loooks great

Very nice. I'm rebuilding my 3 rail O gauge outdoor railroad. I originally had switches but they filled with debris so quickly that I removed them and made continuous loops. Very well done!

I had this issue as well. But once I put the track on the new set up off the ground I haven't had the issue other then maybe a leaf or a twig. But ill take that over having to get micro rocks and dirt out any day!

Yes sir plenty of room for more. After my wedding next year my first big project is to build at least a 10x18 finished shed. That way I can run all lines to the shed for storage and display. Then after that I plan on running a line fully around my property.

I have enough trains to do that but no permanent outdoor space I can do it. Once in 2013 I setup my temporary outdoor tracks with track layed on 6’ long 1” by 4” boards. I removed the track from the 072 curve sections and I’ve bought Menards 096 curves to replace them. I just have to cut the plywood. I have several videos from 2013 of trains on the panel tracks.

Wow, I hear what sounds like weed eaters in the background. Never fails all is quiet untill I get ready to start filming. What a pain. Where I live from the time it get warm untill the season is over its practically not stop all day every day. It can get annoying when your just wanting to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Haha I know right!! This morning all I wanted to do was run some trains and the moment I do the neighbors decided to mow and even. Lol. But I still had a blast for two hours drinking coffee and watching my trains go around. 😋

Being a texan living in the Dallas area im exploring the idea of o scale outdoor railroad. What problems have you encountered with it being a smaller scale?
@luckeyranchrailroadlrr10232 жыл бұрын
Morning, once I figured out my power supply situation decided on how I will convert my engines to battery power I have faced no issues really. Only issues are the common stuff that all railroads deal with like twigs and leafs on the track. With battery power you can use any brand or type of track so there's no issue on supply.

My question is how do you keep the rails from rusting? Those look like gargraves rails and I have had issues with them rusting

Beautiful Layout! I'm building a raised garden RR and running a double main, figure 8. How do you fasten your Atlas track? Thanks in advance, Cesar
@luckeyranchrailroadlrr10233 жыл бұрын
Hey Cesar, thank you for your kind comment. I fastened my atlas track on my raised bed using small wood screws every 6 feet. That way it allows for some expansion. On my ground level layout the track just lays on the ground. That way any shifting won't ruin my ties. Currently the atlas track on the ground is a test run to test its durability. That way I can plan on more routes. Can't wait to see your layout. Good luck and have fun!!

Hello, not sure if you will respond since this an older video. Are your rails s dead rail? How are you running power down the line. Your setup is exactly what i want to do.
@luckeyranchrailroadlrr1023 Жыл бұрын
Good evening. I always try to respond to every comment. To answer your question, yes my rails are dead. I have converted my 3 rail engines to on board battery power with remote control. Best thing I have ever done in this hobby. No more cleaning track, rust is no longer a issue, (yes we still have to lube gears)
@shanewells9398 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for responding. May I ask how and what are you using for the remote? I have mth locos that I would really like to remote control. Are you using an RC control?
@luckeyranchrailroadlrr1023 Жыл бұрын
@@shanewells9398 sure thing, I'm using railpro by ring engineering. You can look through my you tube page and find tons of videos on them. Before I discovered rail pro I was using light dimmers, piko systems, stand toy RC system, among many other DIY systems. But railpro is by far the best system for it. Only thing that comes close I the lionel Lion chief system.

Thank you! I definitely will be watching your videos and looking into that device. Thanks again

Man, your layout is just amazing. I am so excited to do this. Having all the engines and cars just laying around collecting dust in my basement is just wrong, lol.
@blcdad3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for directing me to you KZbin channel! What RC system are you using? Do you have the batteries in the locomotive or in a following dummy or car? Since you are using batteries, couldn't you use two rail track? Are the locomotives DC? If they are AC how does that work with batteries?
@luckeyranchrailroadlrr10233 жыл бұрын
Your very welcome. The system I'm using is the lionchief system. I just simply take off track pick ups and add battery in its spot. The battery placement varies depending the size of the engine. Some scale size engines are large enough to have a battery inside and others require a battery trail car. Look at my other videos that show this. Another system I use on non lionchief stuff is bluerail. Bluerail is a relative new system that they made to where we can fit it into o guage stuff. It's also a bluetooth controlled system like lionchief. In the past I have used piko remotes made for g scale, I have used wireless dimmer switches as well!! But have moved on to just using bluerail and lionchief.

How long do the batteries last?
@luckeyranchrailroadlrr10233 жыл бұрын
I use 14.8v lithium batteries. The average non stop run time for me is 3 about 3 hours per battery. But it all depends on the engine or engines being used and how many cars I'm pulling. Also using sound plays a part in it all as well. But normally I just run a line for an hour 1 or more at a time.
