There was a time when I thought Hendrix was overrated until I actually tried to play this song and realized how unconventional and complex it is for the 60s. No other musician may have thought of writing a song like this. It is a masterpiece that inspired others to dare to play beyond convention and almost every cover of it great. This one is great.

One of my favorite videos on KZbin deals with them trying to break down Jimi Hendrix style of playing. I enjoyed that video because intangible things like when we say somebody plays with feel are hard to quantify, but they did a damn good job.
