I want a movie that where in an alternate reality, Jo and Laurie actually get together by Laurie seeing Jo's letter, and Amy doesn't get in the way.

in an alternate reality Laurie shouldn't have stayed in Europe for almost 4 years (Why ???)... So there would be no time to let Laurie and Amy fall in love... When Beth died... Jo wanted Laurie beside herself.. certainly not professor Baher...

I'm of the unpopular opinion that Laurie and Amy are well suited to each other. In the book, there is a beautiful transition wherein he matures a good deal from his boyish love for Jo to the deeper love he has for Amy. It's realistic and breaks away from that fairytale "first love is true love" notion.

I think it should be better say "first love and ultimate love" because if you say "true" it could seem that first love wasn't true...

Ha Nguyen wow you just took the words out of my mouth. I had been longing for the premier of the film since the trailer came out and got disappointed to know that it would not be on big screen in VN :( I guess the positive side of this is that I’ve had the motivation to read the book while waiting till it is available on Netflix.
