thank you for taking the time to do this movie. not many people do, and it doesn't get the traction some bigger movie reactions get, but it's a film that's very special and beloved. the thing i love about it is that it feels like a classic film. there's parts where i am reminded of movies like sound of music or my fair lady. movies just don't feel like that any more, and this one does. it's a beautiful movie. thank you again

You're one of the very few reactors who correctly caught on to the ending. I love your reaction, thank you for doing this movie!

Right! No wonder she was a non-starter for 16 year old Laurie 😅

so Jo never loved Laurie like that, she only decided she wanted to marry him because she was lonely after Beth dying, since the rest of her sisters were off doing other things. It was basically her settling. Also, the author of the book was a lesbian, so Jo was also very lesbian-coded since she’s based off of her!

Maybe it’s because I’m a straight cis man, but Jo honestly felt WAY more asexual coded than lesbian coded. I don’t think we see any hint of attraction to another girl in this movie.

@@Jabberwocky415 yeah There’s no actual proof that either LMA (just a suspiciously close friendship) or Jo were lesbians.. queer interpretations are obvs welcome but can’t speak in certainties.

I love this story! Alcott wrote many books, two of which are Little Men and Little Women. I've never read Little Men or watched any of the movies for it (each book has been made into a movie 4 times now), but I really should. Being a girl, I stuck with Little Women growing up. Lol. I've only seen the movie version of Little Women with Winona Ryder in it, but I think this is the first one in which Jo doesn't get married (which is how Alcott wanted her book to end, but couldn't get it published that way, much like my favorite book Jane Eyre, where Bronte also wanted Jane to not marry but married her off so the book would get published). The war being fought in this book / movie is the American Civil War (if this movie version never mentions it to you). I really enjoyed your reaction to this movie! My favorite reaction ever to this story is when Joey reads the book in Friends. If you would like to randomly react to an episode of Friends, that's the one I'd recommend to you (it's called The One Where Monica and Richard are Friends). :)

I always like to watch this at Christmas time, I guess because that's when it originally came out and it has the Christmas scene. Now you need to watch the Friends episode where Joey reads Little Women!

I absolutely love this film and I’m currently reading the novel which is also so good so far! If you’re interested in other period films I HIGHLY recommend doing Emma (2020) it’s a film adaptation from the novel Emma by Jane Austin!

This is a true story. A spoiler. Beth doesn’t survive. Beth dies.
