When I first watched Brave with our daughter and the Mackintosh first appeared, had I been drinking something I would have spit it out…and as the show went on, uncovering his and his son’s special personalities? I called up my sister (yes, during the movie, we were watching it at home,) and told her, “OH, MY GOD, MICHELE! YOU HAVE TO WATCH BRAVE THIS INSTANT!” She is single without children and asked me why I thought that. I just said, “I will pester you about this until you watch it. That’s a fact. And when you do, you will know EXACTLY WHY I insist that you watch it.” She did watch it, and immediately called me while she was still watching it and said, “OH, MY GOD! KATHY! TTHE MACKINTOSH IS DAD!!!”😂😂😂💯 and, to be honest, his son was also perfectly descriptive of our dad…vain, highly competitive, short temper, explosive anger, dubious of everyone else’s intentions, basically narcissistic… Ok…I am a U.S. American. My dad’s family were INSANE, and super proud of their Scots ancestry…I mean, my folks told me not to let my grandparents know that I was babysitting for a Campbell family in the 1980’s kind of insane…(not meaning to be disrespectful, just, why would I be talking to my grandparents about babysitting gigs? We lived 500 miles away from them.)

We just found out we're of Scottish descent, including Campbell of Argyll... I need to go back and watch this again!

I think this is the best reaction to Brave I've watched! First of all, your little facts on Scottish culture and language were just an amazing bonus (and woow I've never seen anyone even slightly understanding the kid and his strong accent, I had read I don't remember where that the voice actor intentionally made it very hard to understand so that was so great to hear somewhat of a translation). And just seeing you enjoy the Scottish part of the movie, that was so great to watch! Brave have been one of my favourite Disney since I've first seen it, the characters, the setting, the music, the story, everything is sooo great about it, so glad you loved it

this film awakens my inner scottish pride any time i watch it. i strongly disliked how much people were disappointed by it and ripped into it. this was a passion project like none other

This was my husband's favorite movie. He was a long, curly haired ginger. Our daughter is too. You saying not to trust them made me laugh. I trusted him more than anything in my life. He never did wrong by me

Thank you for giving us non-Scottish folk a translation of the blonde suitor with the ultra-thicc accent! I've been wondering for YEARS what he said- obviously I figured it was real, but without any knowledge of the dialect myself, it feels like learning a dead language without a teacher. So, again @niallnochill, thank you! Glad to see you enjoyed this film as much as I did- & there's no shame in crying. It's the power Disney holds regardless of its content lol.

I agree, that's one of the main reasons I really enjoy learning how Spain is quietly tied to more than one Celtic Mama Land Theory if both Scotland and Ireland but has its own nearly forgotten Ancient Celtic Cities in several locations . Even if it isn't noticable to the crowds It's a great joy to be a Celtic relative. Celta Cuento De Princessa Merida Gracias Por La Pelicula.

The European brown bear was present in Scotland until around the 10th century but hunting and habitat loss led to its extinction. The last known Scottish brown bear was killed in the 9th century, and the species was officially declared extinct in Scotland in the 10th century. So there were definitely more kinds of bears than the current ones present if you go back far enough lol

I only just discovered your channel today. This video popped up in my suggested videos & since "Brave" is one of my favorite movies, I clicked on it. I am a ginger of Scottish ancestry with long crazy hair & I used to shoot a lovely recurve bow back in the day, so I've always related to Merida. I am so glad I stumbled on this video - you are adorable! I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! Now, I'm going to go watch "Brave" myself. Have a bonny day!

Idk why people hate this movie so much, it's not flawless but it's not nearly as bad as everyone says, either. It has so much unique charm and genuinely hilarious jokes.

??????????? With this animated film of little known historic facts of Scotland it's more often historic words and less known phrases of expression that sound similar to slang here in America even though they're saying something serious to another character. Clearly part of this fun film's viewer issues is many aren't patient about figuring out what a cartoon is actually trying to say throughout the movie.

I absolutely love that they accurately showed the archer’s paradox in motion. I saw one reaction where the slow motion shot they were like “Ohh it’s wobbly!” I’m like, it’s supposed to be. That’s actually how it flys straight.

This movie literally made me obsessed with Scotland, I'm literally not kidding. 😂Before, I didn't know anything about Scotland or any countries, but when this movie came out I fell in love. the aesthetics the plot and story in general Scotland is one of my favorite countries. It's a shame that it's an underrated Disney movie, not many people value it for what it really is, but it was so fun to watch this movie with you Greetings.😂🙌

I've been thinking: could those little blue lights actually be the spirits of soldiers from the ancient kingdom? Guiding Merida on a path that could free them or their prince. I don't know.

Those early time wisps can be several things today. Bright Will of the Wisps whch scientifically are wisps from gas under Earth's ground, Lit up Fae flying like they do in Fern Gully's movie, Sidhe/ Sith/ Hada/ Fada gliding in the forest, dwarf sized ghosts, maybe spirits of creatures considered a guardian of the wilderness in several countries including some of the less known water spirits, or even a spirit of a shorter dragon.
