But seriously, while I somewhat understand LK's problems with the arc pointed out all as jokes in these episodes, I don't think Dartz had that much worse motivations than most YuGiOh villains I know. With that said, I didn't like it neither. YGO overall makes slightly less sense than most shonen (yes, I do mean slightly, and no I don't mean shonen is nonsensical) so it was always an acquired taste. So it's definitely not for the same reasons as LK, just that something didn't click.

Actually, Mai leaving Joey at that one location instead of taking him with her was a fairly smart move. Sure, by Mai’s own admission, she is leaving him in a back alley alone and defenseless, but as Duke said, he and the people in the trailer have no way to contact Atem to update him on Joey’s current location. Keeping Joey in the same location allowed his friends to find him easily. As for why she didn’t take him to a hospital, she is aware that a LOT of convenient bullshit happens in Season 4, and thus, she knows that his friends will conveniently show up to help him because, Season 4.
