Meganime Also Kaiba didn't get anime-only backstory and development regarding creating Kaiba Land and Duel Academy, and he didn't attend Yugi's last duel in the manga. The Dark Side of Dimension movie is based on the manga ending, so we saw Kaiba wanted to settle things with Yugi, and making machine to afterlife. In the anime, while he still had some degree of rivalry with Yugi, his passion to spread Duel Monster around the world is more important to him. The anime spin-offs (GX, 5Ds) are based on this ending.

MicManGuy Imo it actually did start to get a little old after peaking at Muerte Piñata. Most jokes are either callbacks of jokes that have been repeated 1, 000 times at this point or either continually come back or stretch on for a while despite not being hilariously funny in the first place. Just look at the final battles for every other arc compared to 82. Turn Around, Bright Eyes, Melvin’d, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Virtual World and Muerte Piñata are all great, and deliver some of the series’ best satire. Bullseye, on the other hand, feels like it’s trying to be emotional as well as humorous but ends up killing any chance of great comedy and feels quite shallow when it its “emotional”.

It really is for the card text, but to have it on every new card now, even the ones that are like a sentence long is just kinda pointless. Calling the discard pile the "graveyard" gave it a sense of purpose, like the game was having you command an army of monsters that when defeated would be laid to rest. Seeing "GY" in place of that makes it lose some if not all that presence. Saying the abbreviation out loud however... yeah literally no point.

A right way to do that is if Yugi wiped all of the Guardians off of the field first instead of Raphael sacrificing them. And when he summons Dreadscythe Raph kinda goes off the edge for a bit. I can imagine an Abridged version of said scene when Atem destroys the rest of the monsters. Raph: "They are just trading cards!" Yami: "Oh yeah well let me continue this therapy session by pulling another ability out of my ass and killing your other guardians one by one!" *boom* Raph: "DAD!" Raph: "BROTHER!" Raph: "COUSIN!" Yami: "I know this is really painful but I assure you once this is all over you'll feel a lot better after all it worked for Mako." Raph: "You know what F*** your therapy! I summon Guardian Uncle Dreadscythe! And guess what, his ability is getting stronger for each guardian monster in the graveyard. So now Dreadscythe will pay you back for each one you killed."
